Photonuclear data evaluation for nuclei around A=200 considering experimental double differential cross-section data

This study focuses on the evaluation of photonuclear data for nuclei around A=200 ($$^{181}$$Ta, $$^{nat}$$W, $$^{197}$$Au, $$^{nat}$$Pb, and $$^{209}$$Bi), incorporating experimental double differential cross-section (DDX) data at photon energies of 13 and 17 MeV. The evaluation is performed using the nuclear reaction model code CCONE, combining the Hauser-Feshbach statistical model and the preequilibrium two-component exciton model. We find that incorporating experimental DDX data for the evaluation process has an impact, in particular, for considering the contribution of the preequilibrium component. The reliability of the photonuclear data is improved in comparison with the evaluated photonuclear data of JENDL-5.
