Lifetimes of exotic nuclei

Mukha, I.*; Koura, Hiroyuki   ; Tachibana, Takahiro*

Among the most fundamental properties of exotic nuclides, the ones usually established first are the half-life, possible radioactive decay modes, and their relative probabilities. Lifetime measurements of exotic nuclear isotopes and their comparison with theoretical predictions are presented in this chapter. The chapter concludes with present day status and future aspects of experimental methods and calculations. This is a review on the part of lifetime of exotic nuclei in the textbook of "Handbook of Nuclear Physics" (eds. Isao Tanihata, Hiroshi Toki and Toshitaka Kajino (Springer, Singapore (2023)).
