Determining the age of nuclear materials provides insight into the production facilities and processes involved. Th-230/U-234 radiochronometers are widely used for nuclear forensics analysis. Using mass spectrometry techniques, such as Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS), providing high sensitivity and accuracy. However, mass spectrometry techniques are expensive and not accessible in all countries, prompting interest in cheaper alternative methods such as alpha spectrometry. This research works on a comparison of age dating using TIMS and alpha spectrometry.
