We have developed a fiber-delivered laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (fiber-LIBS) system equipped with a microchip laser for the remote analysis of nuclear fuel materials inside and outside the reactor in the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station. We demonstrated the feasibility of ultra-long LIBS analysis of over 300 m using a universal fiber connector, and evaluated the characteristics of microchip-LIBS analysis in a high radiation environment using calibration curves, demonstrating that they remain unchanged even in a high dose rate of 1 kGy/h.
