Study on core disruptive accidents of metal-fueled sodium-cooled fast reactors, 3; Measurement for eutectic reaction rate between U-Zr alloys and Fe/stainless steel

Yamazaki, Saishun*; Ouchi, Atsushi*; Sakamoto, Kan*; Sato, Takumi  ; Ogata, Takanari*; Yamano, Hidemasa

The thickness reduction rate of Fe/stainless steel by eutectic reaction with U/U-Zr alloys was estimated in order to provide the basis for developing between the fuel and cladding eutectic reaction phenomenon during core disruptive accidents (CDA) in metal-fueled sodium-cooled fast reactors. In the case of the intervention of eutectic melt expected during CDA, the thickness reduction rate of Fe/stainless steel for fuel-cladding material has slowed.
