Study on the determination of evaluation parameters for assessing radionuclide migration due to surface runoff

Shimada, Taro ; Ueshima, Naruyuki*; Namekawa, Masakazu*; Takai, Shizuka ; Takeda, Seiji

The authors conducted laboratory experiments for runoff of dust deposited on the ground surfaces -asphalt and concrete in three different aging types - to obtain three parameters required for the CDecom program developed to evaluate changes in initial radioactivity distribution on the ground surface by overland flow: equivalent roughness coefficient, hydraulic erosion transfer rate coefficient due to the overland flow, and splash erosion coefficient due to raindrop impact. As a result, correlation equations between each parameter and the arithmetic mean roughness obtained by a 3D scanner were derived. A method to set the parameters for predicting radioactivity distribution change without conducting experiments was suggested.
