Development of fleet-level tritium cycle simulator for fusion energy utilization

Abe, Takumi ; Shishido, Hiroki*; Ito, Satoshi*

The systematic introduction of fusion reactors requires a timely and appropriate supply of tritium. Since tritium occurs naturally in negligible quantities, it will be produced in the blanket of fusion reactors by fusion neutrons. However, in the early introduction phase, because no fusion reactors are yet in operation, it is necessary to consider tritium supply strategies, such as constructing fusion reactors dedicated to tritium production or preparing external tritium sources. To address this need, we developed a fusion reactor cycle simulator for the accurate estimation of the supply and demand of tritium.
