科学研究費助成事業(基盤研究B「ガンマ線の完全可視化技術に基づく放射性廃棄物の革新的定量分析システムの研究」)の一環として、原子力施設の廃止措置に伴い発生する放射性廃棄物の管理・分析に電子飛跡検出型コンプトンカメラ(ETCC: Electron-Tracking Compton Camera)を用いたガンマ線完全可視化技術を応用する研究を進めている。本発表では、廃止措置が進む新型転換炉原型炉「ふげん」の復水脱塩器室で実施した試験測定について報告する。まずサーベイメータによる事前調査により、天井配管の屈曲部フランジ付近に約1 $${mu}$$Sv/hのホットスポットを確認した。ETCCによる測定は、このホットスポットを測定視野に含む場合と含まない場合の2条件で実施した。前者ではフランジ付近からのガンマ線放出を可視化し、線量率を約1 $${mu}$$Sv/hと推定した。後者では、サーベイメータでは検出できなかったベントフィルタ全体に分布するバックグラウンド線量率程度の汚染をガンマ線の飛来方向を特定した解析により可視化することに成功した。

As part of a KAKENHI project, we are developing applications of complete gamma-ray visualization technology using an Electron-Tracking Compton Camera (ETCC) for the management and analysis of radioactive waste generated during the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. This presentation reports on measurements conducted in the condensate demineralizer room of the Advanced Thermal Reactor prototype "Fugen," which is currently undergoing decommissioning. Prior contamination surveys using conventional survey meters identified a hotspot with a dose rate of approximately 1 $${mu}$$Sv/h near the flange at the bent section of ceiling piping. ETCC measurements were performed under two conditions: with and without the hotspot within the measurement field of view. In the measurement including the hotspot, gamma-ray emissions from the vicinity of the flange were successfully visualized, and the dose rate was estimated to be approximately 1 $${mu}$$Sv/h, consistent with the survey meter results. In the measurement excluding the hotspot, we successfully visualized contamination distributed across the entire vent filter at background dose rate levels, which could not be detected by the survey meter. These results demonstrate the capability of ETCC technology to visualize low-level contamination distributions that are difficult to detect with conventional instruments.
