The New MRTOF mass spectrograph following the ZeroDegree spectrometer at RIKEN's RIBF facility

Rosenbusch, M.*; Ito, Yuta   ; 24 of others*

A new MRTOF mass spectrograph was assembled following the ZeroDegree spectrometer at RIKEN RIBF. By using a pulsed-drift-tube technique to modify the ions' kinetic energy in a wide range, we directly characterized the dispersion function of the system for optimizing the voltages applied to the electrostatic mirrors. This enabled us to achieve a mass resolving power of 10$$^{6}$$ within a total time-of-flight of only 12.5 ms, making the spectrometer capable of studying short-lived nuclei possessing low-lying isomers.
