Overview of PHENIX experiment at RHIC

The RHIC has been contributing significantly to the study of strong interactions described with QCD, and nuclear matter under extreme conditions. The PHENIX experiment at RHIC, operated from 2001 to 2016,has collected a comprehensive dataset (See Fig.1) and continues to publish scientific papers to yield impactful results from initial to final stages of nucleus collisions. These measurements have provided critical insights into the properties of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), and cold nuclear matter (CNM) affecting also in small collision systems. Some of selected observations from recent publications are overviewed here; firstly, for particle-identified hadrons, secondly for heavy flavor probes, and thirdly for electro magnetic probes. The direct photon yields shows many interesting features. These observations highlight ongoing contributions of PHENIX experiment, both in soft and hard sectors.
