YbV$$_6$$Sn$$_6$$ is a Kondo lattice compound with a layered structure composed of a triangular lattice of Yb$$^{3+}$$ ions and a vanadium-based kagome network, and it orders antiferromagnetically at $$T_{rm N}approx 0.4$$ K. We performed a $$^{51}$$V-NMR study of its paramagnetic state. The field-angular dependence of single-crystal NMR spectra allowed us to determine the principal axes of the electric field gradient tensor, the quadrupole frequency $$nu_{rm Q}$$, and the asymmetry parameter $$eta$$ at the $$^{51}$$V sites. Knight-shift and susceptibility analyses revealed anisotropic hyperfine couplings, while the spin-lattice relaxation rate $$1/T_1$$ showed enhanced low-energy spin fluctuations below $$sim20$$~K with strong in-plane anisotropy. A further field-tunable enhancement below $$sim10$$~K suggests proximity to the very-low-temperature antiferromagnetic instability.
