In this work, the measurements of $$^{56,58}Fe$$($$^{18}$$O, $$^{17}$$N)$$^{57,59}$$Co transfer reactions were carried out and Distorted Wave Born Approximation calculations were employed to reproduce the experimental data with the systematic heavy ion optical potential to investigate the interaction radius. The Coulomb barrier radii $$r_{rm B}$$ were determined to be 9.58$$pm$$0.35 fm and 9.83$$pm$$0.37 fm for $$^{18}$$O+$$^{56}$$Fe and $$^{18}$$O+$$^{58}$$Fe, respectively. The maximum distances between two nuclei surfaces were calculated to be 0.68$$pm$$0.35 fm for $$^{18}$$O+$$^{56}$$Fe and 0.85$$pm$$0.37 fm for $$^{18}$$O + $$^{58}$$Fe in this work, which provide a clear physical picture of the distance between two nuclei surfaces in single-nucleon transfer reactions.
