de Haas-van Alphen oscillation was successfully observed in an unconventional superconductor UTe$$_2$$ using high-quality single crystals. From this observation, Fermi surfaces of this compound were determined to be cylinders elongated along the c-direction, in consistent with theoretical expectation. However, the extremely large cyclotron effective masses ranging 32 to 57 m$$_0$$, in consistent with the electronic specific heat, far exceed calculated values.

Ferromagnetic fluctuation relevant to the pressure-induced superconductivity in UGe$$_2$$ is investigated by means of NMR spectroscopy. Longitudinal magnetic fluctuations were observed in the spin-echo decay rate near the ferromagnetic critical point where superconductivity takes place. This result strongly suggests that superconductivity in ferromagnets is universally mediated by anisotropic magnetic fluctuations.

Single crystal samples of EuCu$$_5$$ and EuAu$$_5$$ have been successfully prepared. Using those samples, magnetic and electronic anisotropy has been clarified. Magnetic moment in the ferromagnetic state points to the hexagonal $$c$$-axis for both compounds. Electronic anisotropy was found in both electrical resistivity and Fermi surface topology. These anisotropic characteristics are accounted for by the unique hexagonal structure.

EuPtSi with the cubic chiral structure exhibits a skyrmion phase under magnetic field. We succeeded in growing high-quality single crystals by the Bridgman method. Fermi surface splitting reflecting the noncentrosymmetric structure was successfully observed experimentally.

Fermi surfaces of semimetallic YSb, LuSb, YBi and LuBi were investigated by de Haas-van Alphen effect. The Fermi surfaces consist of hole pockets arising from $$p$$-bands from Sb or Bi and electron ellipsoids from 5$$d$$ band of Y or Lu. Larger carrier number of YBi and LuBi is attributed to larger spin-orbit interaction of Bi-6$$p$$ state than Sb-5$$p$$.

We report $$^{29}$$Si and $$^{101}$$Ru NMR measurements on high-quality, single-crystal URu$$_2$$Si$$_2$$ samples with a residual resistivity ratio RRR$$sim$$70. Our results show that the Si and Ru sites exhibit 4-fold electronic symmetry around the $$c$$-axis in the hidden-order state. A previously observed 2-fold contribution of Si NMR linewidth is concluded to be due to extrinsic magnetic centers. Since the U and Si sites are aligned along the $$c$$-axis, we conclude further that the electronic state shows 4-fold symmetry around the U site below the hidden-order transition. From this observed local symmetry, possible space groups for the hidden-order state are $$P4/nnc$$ or $$I4/m$$, based on group theoretical considerations. Since the order vector is considered to be $$Q=(001)$$, the hidden-order state is then found to be $$P4/nnc$$ with rank 5 odd-parity, i.e. electric dotriacontapolar order.

$$^{73}$$Ge nuclear quadrupole resonance study of ferromagnetic superconductor UGe$$_2$$ is reported. Detailed analyses successfully assigned crystallographic sites of Ge atoms. The measurement of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate revealed highly anisotropic magnetic fluctuations.

Superconducting characteristics and Fermi surfaces of Zr$$_2$$Co are experimentally studied on a single crystal sample grown by Bridgman technique. Thermodynamic quantities in the superconducting state such as specific heat and magnetization show deviation from a single-gap the BCS model and can be attributed on the band structure with the dominant contribution of Zr-4$$d$$ and Co-3$$d$$ components.

Fermi surface properties of illuminate NiSbS and PbBiSe have been clarified by de Haas-van Alphen effect, resistivity and specific heat measurements. Fermi surfaces were found to split into two, reflecting the non-centrosymmetric crystal structure. The splitting energies have been estimated experimentally. Those are originated from spin-orbit interactions.

A series of metallic compounds with the tetragonal symmetry are investigated to reveal the relationship between the structural dimensionality and the electronic structure. By combining the de Haas-van Alphen experiments and band structure calculations, a flat one-dimensional Fermi surface is revealed in V$$_2$$Ga$$_5$$ which is characterized by a chain like arrangement of atoms. On the other hand, Co$$_3$$Ga with the nearly cubic symmetry has pyramidal Fermi surfaces with flat {111} planes, similar to Ni$$_3$$Ga with the ideal cubic structure.

High quality single crystals of EuGa$$_4$$ have been grown from Ga flux. Electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, high-field magnetization, specific heat, thermoelectric power and de Haas-van Alphen effect were investigated. Antiferromagnetic transition due to divalent Eu atoms were observed at 16.5 K. A charge density wave transition was also found under high pressure accompanied by a Fermi surface reconstruction. These observations were fully accounted for by the Fermi surface topology and corresponding band calculations.

Pr$$Tr$$$$_2$$Al$$_{20}$$ ($$Tr$$=Ti, V)は、高温では近藤効果による重い電子状態を示唆する振る舞いが観測され、一方、低温では多極子秩序と考えられる相転移を示し、さらにより低温で超伝導が出現する非常に興味深い系である。我々はこの物質について初めてとなるNMR研究を行い、微視的観点からその電子状態の解明を行った。その結果、スピン格子緩和時間の測定から、この系ではf電子と伝導電子との間に強い混成効果が存在し、それがTi系からV系へ移行するとともに強まっていることを確認した。さらにTi系物質において多極子ゆらぎに起因すると思われる緩和時間の異常な振る舞いも観測した。これまで超伝導はTi系でのみ観測されており、今回のNMR研究の成果は、この系における超伝導と多極子揺らぎの関係を理解する上で重要な指針を与えている。

We succeeded in growing high-quality single crystals of V$$_{5}$$Si$$_{3}$$ with a high melting point of 2010 $$^{circ}$$C, and carried out the electrical resistivity, specific heat, magnetic susceptibility, and the de Haas-van Alphen measurements to clarify the electronic properties. The Fermi surface is small in volume and is well explained by the result of energy band calculations. The cyclotron mass is in the range from 5.3 to 0.2 $$m_0$$ ($$m_0$$: rest mass of an electron), consistent with the electronic specific heat coefficient $$gamma$$ = 9.7 mJ/(K$$^{2}$$$$cdot$$mol).

Fermi surface and superconducting properties were investigated on an non-centrosymmetric LaNiC$$_2$$ compound. Reflecting the crystal structure characteristics, the Fermi surfaces are split due to the antisymmetric spin-orbit interaction. On the other hand, thermodynamic property in the superconducting state follow the conventional BCS theory despite the splitting of Fermi surfaces.

We studied the Fermi surface properties of YbCu$$_2$$Si$$_2$$ and YbCu$$_2$$Ge$$_2$$ with the tetragonal structure by measuring the de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations, together with the energy band calculations. It was clarified that 4f electrons contribute to the Fermi surface of a valence fluctuating compound YbCu$$_2$$Si$$_2$$, but not to that of a divalent compound YbCu$$_2$$Ge$$_2$$. We also studied the heavy fermion properties of YbT$$_2$$Zn$$_{20}$$ (T: Co, Rh, Ir) with the cubic caged structure. The metamagnetic behavior or an abrupt nonlinear increase of magnetization was observed. By measuring the electrical resistivity under pressure and magnetic field, we clarified that the electronic state close to the quantum critical point is realized in YbIr$$_2$$Zn$$_{20}$$ at 5.2 GPa and also YbCo$$_2$$Zn$$_{20}$$ at ambient pressure.
