The simple and rapid separation method was developed for actinides in the low-level radioactive waste. Extraction chromatographic columns were used for the separation of U, Np, Pu, Am, and Cm in the solution of the simulated solidified product and the simulated waste solution. In the investigation of separation procedure, it was tried to construct the scheme with the relatively non-corrosive reagents aiming to apply to the routine analysis of the radioactive waste. Recoveries and decontamination factors of actinides in the solution of simulated waste were high enough to determine of actinides in radioactive waste by alpha-spectrometry, mass spectroscopy. The time required of the separation operation was 2-3 hours. The chromatographic method was applied to analysis of actinide in actual waste solution, high recoveries and decontamination factors were obtained, which indicated that the extraction chromatographic separation method would be adopted as a simple and rapid separation method of actinide in waste.

All of the complexes had a distorted capped square antiprism (CSAP) geometry, and the coordination environments of lanthanide complexes were more distortedfor the complexes with the linear ligand than those with the cyclic ligand. The Eu complexes with the linear ligand showed more intense emissions, which were attributed to the
D
F
transition, than the complex withthe cyclic ligand in acetonitrile, which can be attributed to the distortion in the coordination environments. These results indicate that the coordination environments of lanthanide complexes, and thus the luminescence properties, can be controlled by tuning the geometrical structures of polydentate ligands.

Physics design on plasma parameters, operation scenarios, and the plasma control method are investigated for the achievement of high-. Engineering design and the R&D on the superconducting magnet coils, radiation shield, and vacuum vessel are performed. Recent progress in such physics and technology developments is presented.

Recovery of salts by supercritical fluid leaching (SFL) method using carbon dioxide was experimentally studied. It was confirmed that LiCl was recovered with a mixed fluid of carbon dioxide and methanol, and KCl and SrCl were recovered with a mixed fluid of carbon dioxide, methanol and crown ether. The influence of crown ether for KCl and SrCl
extraction were found to increase in the order of 15-crown-5 (15C5)
18-crown-6 (18C6)
dicychlohexyl-18-crown-6 (DC18C6). It is expected that other salts can be recovered selectively with a mixed fluid of carbon dioxide, methanol and suitable crown ether.

To develop a core damage evaluation technology (level-2 PSA) in sodium-cooled fast reactors, a new analysis method is developed for core-material relocation phase and internal containment vessel event. This study also develop technical basis necessary for the level-2 PSA.
