In order to determine neutron capture cross sections for the minor actinides, the present authors have decided to install large Ge detecter array, which consists of 22 Ge crystals and BGO scintillation anti-Compton detectors, at the neutron beam in the materials and life science experimental facility (MLF) in the Japan proton accelerator research (J-PARC) project and to measure prompt rays with time of flight (TOF) method and multiple -ray coincidence method. Because estimated time-integrated thermal neutron flux at the MLF is at 20-m from the neutron source, a data acquisition system (DAQ) is required to be in high speed. For this reason, the authors developed a new high speed DAQ by improving Main ADC Modules which are components of the authors' old DAQ and calculate the energy from prompt -rays. By combining high-speed ADCs, high-power DSPs and large DPMs, high speed and high density DAQ can be constructed.
