Those unusual features have been attracting renewed attention from topological aspects. Although the surface conduction was demonstrated according to size-dependent resistivity in bulk crystals, its topological characteristics and consequent electromagnetic responses remain elusive. Here, we demonstrate an inherent surface ferromagnetic-metal state of FeSi thin films and its strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) properties through multiple characterizations of two-dimensional conductance, magnetization, and spintronic functionality. Terminated covalent bonding orbitals constitute the polar surface state with momentum-dependent spin textures due to Rashba-type spin splitting, as corroborated by unidirectional magnetoresistance measurements and first-principles calculations. As a consequence of the spin-momentum locking, nonequilibrium spin accumulation causes magnetization switching. These surface properties are closely related to the Zak phase of the bulk band topology. Our findings propose another route to explore noble metal-free materials for SOC-based spin manipulation.

We report on the details of the experimental setup and current status of the development.

, Ln(tta)(TOPO)
などの疎水性の荷電付加物の形成に起因することが示された。

Pdに対する核子当たり50MeVの陽子および重陽子入射による残留核生成断面積を逆運動学法によって測定した。その結果、重陽子入射ではAgやPd同位体の生成断面積が大きくなることを実験的に示した。また、理論計算による解析から、この生成断面積の増大は重陽子の不完全融合反応に起因することを示した。これらの結果は、陽子過剰核の生成において重陽子のような弱束縛核の利用が有効であることを示すものである。

O, 21n)S fusion evaporation reaction was used to populate high-spin states in S. The germanium -ray detector array ORGAM was employed to measure rays from high-spin states and charged particles evaporated from the compound nuclei were detected by a segmented silicon detector, Si-Ball. A level scheme for S was deduced based on the gamma-gamma-coincidence analysis and -ray angular correlation analysis. The half-life of the transition in the superdeformed band was estimated by measuring the residual Doppler shift. The deduced half-life shows the large collectivity of the band.

ここでは、水底の放射性セシウムの濃度を直接測定し、換算する手法(in-situ測定手法)の開発を行った。本方法は、p-Scannerと呼ばれる水中での使用可能な、プラスチックシンチレーションファイバ検出器を開発し、水底の広い面積を短時間に直接測定することを実現した。また、p-Scannerで得られた計数率は、検出器で値付けされた水中用の線スペクトロメータと比較測定を行うことにより、湿潤重量当たりの放射性セシウムの濃度(Bq/kg-wet)に換算できるようにした。開発した手法を、福島県内の農業用ため池に適用し、放射性セシウムの濃度分布マップを作成し、本方法の有用性を示した。

While these LSVs show the same magnitude of spin signals, significant substrate dependence of the baseline resistance was observed. The baseline resistance shows much weaker dependence on the inter-electrode distance than that of the spin transport observed in the Cu wires. A simple analysis of voltage-current characteristics in the baseline resistance indicates the observed result can be explained by a combination of the Peltier and Seebeck effects at the injector and detector junctions, suggesting the usage of high thermal conductivity substrate (or under-layer) is effective to reduce the baseline resistance.

2011年3月11日に発生した東日本大震災による津波に起因した東京電力福島第一原子力発電所の事故によって、大量の放射性物質が周辺に飛散した。放射線の分布を迅速かつ広範囲に測定する手法として、航空機等を用いた空からの測定方法が考えられる。近年、無人ヘリコプターの開発が進んでおり、プログラミングによる自律飛行が可能な機種もある。原子力機構では、事故直後から、無人ヘリコプターによる放射線測定システムの開発に着手し、広範囲のモニタリングを実施している。無人ヘリコプターは、ヘリコプター(検出器)と操作する作業員に距離がとれるため、被ばくを抑制できること、プログラミングにより同じ場所を何度でも測定できることから、除染前後などの変化の観測が可能であることなどの特徴がある。モニタリングは、2011年12月から本格的に開始し、これまで、原子力発電所周辺のモニタリング、河川敷のモニタリング、発電所敷地内上空のモニタリング及び除染前後のモニタリングを行ってきた。ここでは、システムの詳細及びモニタリングの方法、結果についてまとめる。

原子力機構は、指定公共機関として、国及び地方公共団体その他の機関に対し、災害対策又は武力攻撃事態等への対処において、防災業務計画及び国民保護業務計画に則り、技術支援をする責務を有している。原子力緊急時支援・研修センターは、緊急時には、専門家の派遣、防災資機材の提供、防護対策のための技術的助言等の支援活動を行う。また、平常時には、我が国の防災対応体制強化・充実のために、自らの訓練・研修の他、国、地方公共団体、警察、消防、自衛隊等の原子力防災関係者のための訓練・研修、原子力防災に関する調査研究及び国際協力を実施する。平成24年度においては、上記業務を継続して実施するとともに、国の原子力防災体制の抜本的見直しに対し、これまでに培った経験及び東京電力福島第一原子力発電所事故への対応を通じた教訓等を活かし、国レベルでの防災対応基盤の強化に向け、専門家として技術的な支援を行うとともに、当センターの機能の維持・運営及び国との連携を図った自らの対応能力強化などに取り組んだ。なお、福島事故への対応については、人的・技術的な支援活動の主たる拠点が福島技術本部に移行することとなったため、平成24年9月をもって終了した。

DA18C6) composed of diaza-18-crown-6 and two -diketone fragments in ionic liquid (IL) is reported, together with X-ray spectroscopic characterization of the resulting extracted complexes in the IL and chloroform phases. The covalent attachment of two -diketone fragments to a diazacrown ether resulted in a cooperative interaction within the receptor for Sr transfer, which remarkably enhanced the efficiency of Sr transfer relative to a mixed -diketone and diazacrown system. The intramolecular cooperative effect was observed only in the IL extraction system, providing a 500-fold increase in extraction performance for Sr over chloroform. Slope analysis and potentiometric titration confirmed that identical extraction mechanisms operated in both the IL and chloroform systems. Extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy revealed that the average distance between Sr and O atoms in the Sr complex was shorter in IL than in chloroform. Consequently, Sr was held by HDA18C6 more rigidly in IL than in chloroform, representing an important factor dominating the magnitude of the intramolecular cooperative effect of HDA18C6 for Sr.

A rotational band with five cascade -ray transitions was newly found in Ar. The deduced transition quadrupole moment of 
eb has demonstrated this band as having a superdeformed shape of 
0.5. The structure of the band was discussed in the framework of cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov calculations and the assignment of multiparticle-multihole configuration has been made.
