We plan to measure cross sections for pion-induced phi-meson production on the proton at the high-intensity high-momentum secondary-particle beamline at J-PARC under the E95 physics program to study nucleon resonances and a possible hidden-strangeness pentaquark baryon in the phi-nucleon channel, which are expected to appear in the s-channel intermediate state of the reaction. The pentaquark baryon is a candidate for the origin of the unresolved bump that observed in the differential cross section at forward angles for photoproduction of phi mesons on the proton. We use several incident negative-pion momenta ranging from 1.6 to 2.4 GeV/c and detect positive and negative kaon pairs from the phi-meson decays utilizing the existing spectrometer with large acceptance. In this contribution, we will give a brief introduction of this E95 physics program.

In this method, both dead-time and pile-up effects are considered simultaneously in a consistent manner. To validate this method in harsh count rate conditions, we have applied it to two different types of C
D
liquid scintillators at different count rate conditions and demonstrated the capability to account for these effects in neutron-capture cross-section measurements at the CERN n_TOF facility. The method brings very good results under the count rates up to

Hg was observed for the first time following the
decay of the 13/2
isomer in
Pb produced in the
Nd

reaction. Using

delayed coincidence measurements, the half-life of this isomer was measured to be 290(30)
s. This isomer is proposed to deexcite by an unobserved low-energy
2 transition to the known 9/2
member of a strongly prolate-deformed 7/2
[514] band, followed by a 105-keV
1 transition to the bandhead. A lower limit of B(
2)
0.018 W.u. was deduced for the unobserved transition. The presumed retardation is proposed to be due to the notable shape change between the initial, nearly spherical, and the final, strongly deformed, states. A similar scenario is also considered for the 13/2
isomer in
Hg, suggesting both are cases of shape isomers. The B(
2) systematics of neutron transitions across the nuclear chart is discussed.

Au were studied by means of in-beam

Au and isomer tagging in
Au, were used for these studies. Feeding of positive-parity, nearly spherical states, which are associated with 2

proton-hole configurations, from the 1
proton-intruder configuration was observed in
Au. Such a decay path has no precedent in odd-Au isotopes and it is explained by the effect of mixing of wave functions of the initial state.
