We report a new measurement of the exclusive $$e^+ e^- to D^{(*) pm} D^{*mp}$$ cross sections as a function of the center-of-mass energy from the $$D^{(*) pm} D^{* mp}$$ threshold through $$sqrt{s}=6.0$$ GeV with initial-state radiation. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector with an integrated luminosity of $$951$$ fb$$^{-1}$$. The accuracy of the cross section measurement is increased by a factor of two over the first Belle study. We perform the first angular analysis of the $$e^+ e^- to D^{* pm} D^{* mp}$$ process and decompose this exclusive cross section into three components corresponding to the $$D^*$$ helicities.

We searched for the bound state of the neutron-rich $$Lambda$$-hypernucleus $$^6_Lambda$$H, using the $$^6$$Li$$(pi^-,K^+)X$$ double charge-exchange reaction at a $$pi^-$$ beam momentum of 1.2 GeV/$$c$$ at J-PARC. A total of $$1.4 times 10^{12}$$ $$pi^-$$ was driven onto a $$^6$$Li target of 3.5 g/cm$$^2$$ thickness. No event was observed below the bound threshold, i.e., the mass of $$^4_Lambda$$H+$$2n$$, in the missing-mass spectrum of the $$^6$$Li$$(pi^-,K^+)X$$ reaction in the $$2^{circ} < theta_{pi K} <20^{circ}$$ angular range. Furthermore, no event was found up to 2.8 MeV/c$$^2$$ above the bound threshold.

Using a data sample of 980 fb$$^{-1}$$ of $$e^+e^-$$ annihilation data taken with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $$e^+e^-$$ collider, we report the results of a study of excited $$Xi_c$$ states that decay, via the emission of photons and/or charged pions, into $$Xi_c^0$$ or $$Xi_c^+$$ ground state charmed-strange baryons. We present new measurements of the masses of all members of the $$Xi_c'$$, $$Xi_c(2645)$$, $$Xi_c(2790)$$, $$Xi_c(2815)$$, $$Xi_c(2980)$$ isodoublets, measurements of the intrinsic widths of those that decay strongly, and evidence of previously unknown transitions.

福島第一原子力発電所近隣における事故5年後の土壌放射能測定

2011年3月の東京電力福島第一原子力発電所事故によって、福島県内の陸域において大規模な放射能汚染が引き起こされた。2011年6月には、大学連合を主体とした大規模な調査が実施され、土壌への汚染状況が明らかとなったが、それ以降は土壌を実際に採取しての分析は行われていない。事故から5年が経ち、これらの放射性物質は初期とは異なる状況になり、その一部は化学形態が変化し移動していることが考えられる。そこで本研究では福島県内の帰還困難区域を中心として現在の汚染状況の把握を行った。大熊町、双葉町の36ヵ所での分析では$$^{137}$$Csの最大濃度は比放射能で1180kBq/kg・dry、インベントリで68400kBq/m$$^{2}$$であった。土壌の汚染状況は空間線量と明瞭な相関がみられた。土壌中への放射性セシウムの浸透度(0-2.5cmと2.5-5.0cmの放射能比)は地点ごとの差があり、そのほとんどが表層にとどまっている地点もあるが、一部の地点では5cmより深くに移行していることを示唆する結果が得られた。
