Os and
Re was investigated in experiments performed at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyvaskyla. New decay chains assigned to
Os were identified at beam energies of 310 and 330 MeV. These findings are compared with previous studies claiming the observation of
Os and

decays in events reconstructed from data collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider. The total integrated luminosity of the data sample, which was collected at center-of-mass energies at or near the

A new hyperon-proton scattering experiment, dubbed J-PARC E40, was performed to measure differential cross sections of the
,
elastic scatterings and the
scattering by identifying a lot of
particles in the momentum ranging from 0.4 to 0.8 GeV/
produced by the
reactions. We successfully measured the differential cross sections of these three channels with a drastically improved accuracy with a fine angular step. These new data will become important experimental constraints to improve the theories of the two-body baryon-baryon interactions. Following this success, we proposed a new experiment to measure the differential cross sections and spin observables by using a highly polarized
beam for providing quantitative information on the
interaction. The results of three
channels and future prospects of the
scattering experiment are described.

-ray spectroscopy of the neutron-rich isotopes
Ag was carried out at RIBF, RIKEN. The long predicted 1/2
emitting isomers were identified in both nuclei for the first time. The new experimental results extend the systematic trend of energy spacing between the lowest 9/2
and 1/2
levels in Ag isotopes up to N=78, providing a clear signal for the reduction of the Z=40 subshell gap in Ag towards N=82. The tensor force is found to play a key role in the reduction of the Z=40 sub-shell gap.

At have been measured for the first time at CERN-ISOLDE, using the in-source resonance-ionization spectroscopy method. The hyperfine structures of isotopes were recorded using a triad of experimental techniques for monitoring the photo-ion current. The Multi-Reflection Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer, in connection with a high-resolution electron multiplier, was used as an ion-counting setup for isotopes that either were affected by strong isobaric contamination or possessed a long half-life; the ISOLDE Faraday cups were used for cases with high-intensity beams; and the Windmill decay station was used for short-lived, predominantly
-decaying nuclei. The electromagnetic moments and changes in the mean-square charge radii of the astatine nuclei have been extracted from the measured hyperfine-structure constants and isotope shifts. This was only made possible by dedicated state-of-the-art large-scale atomic computations of the electronic factors and the specific mass shift of atomic transitions in astatine that are needed for these extractions. By comparison with systematics, it was possible to assess the reliability of the results of these calculations and their ascribed uncertainties. A strong deviation in the ground-state mean-square charge radii of the lightest astatine isotopes, from the trend of the (spherical) lead isotopes, is interpreted as the result of an onset of deformation. This behavior bears a resemblance to the deviation observed in the isotonic polonium isotopes. Cases for shape coexistence have been identified in
At, for which a significant difference in the charge radii for ground (9/2
) and isomeric (1/2
) states has been observed.
