Measurement of the branching fraction of $$Xi_{c}^{0}to Lambda_{c}^{+}pi^{-}$$ at Belle

Based on a data sample of 983 fb$$^{-1}$$ collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $$e^+e^-$$ collider, we present the study of the heavy-flavor-conserving decay $$Xi_{c}^{0}to Lambda_{c}^{+}pi^{-}$$ with $$Lambda_{c}^{+}$$ reconstructed via its $$pK^{-} pi^{+}$$ decay mode. The branching fraction ratio $$mathcal{B}(Xi_{c}^{0}to Lambda_{c}^{+}pi^{-})/mathcal{B}(Xi_{c}^{0}to Xi^{-}pi^{+})$$ is measured to be $$0.38 pm 0.04 pm 0.04$$. Combing with the world average value of $$mathcal{B}(Xi_{c}^{0}to Xi^{-}pi^{+})$$, the branching fraction $$mathcal{B}(Xi_{c}^{0}to Lambda_{c}^{+}pi^{-})$$ is deduced to be $$(0.54 pm 0.05 pm 0.05 pm 0.12)%$$. Here, the uncertainties above are statistical, systematic, and from $$mathcal{B}(Xi_c^{0} to Xi^{-}pi^{+})$$, respectively.

Pole position of $$Lambda(1405)$$ measured in $$d(K^-,n)piSigma$$ reactions

We measured a set of $$pi^pmSigma^mp$$, $$pi^0Sigma^0$$, and $$pi^-Sigma^0$$ invariant mass spectra below and above the $$bar{K}N$$ mass threshold in $$K^-$$-induced reactions on deuteron. We deduced the $$S$$-wave$$bar{K}NrightarrowpiSigma$$ and $$bar{K}Nrightarrowbar{K}N$$ scattering amplitudes in the isospin 0 channel in the framework of a $$bar{K}N$$ and $$piSigma$$ coupled channel. We find that a resonance pole corresponding to $$Lambda(1405)$$ is located at 1417.7$$^{+6.0}_{-7.4}$$(fitting errors)$$^{+1.1}_{-1.0}$$(systematic errors) + $$[-26.1^{+6.0}_{-7.9}$$(fitting errors)$$^{+1.7}_{-2.0}$$(systematic errors)]$$i$$ MeV/$$c^2$$, closer to the $$bar{K}N$$ mass threshold than the value determined by the Particle Data Group.

Summary of the $$K^- pp$$ bound-state observation in E15 and future prospects

The possible existence of deeply-bound $$bar K$$-nuclear bound states, kaonic nuclei, has been widely discussed as products of the strongly attractive $$bar K N$$ interaction in $$I = 0$$ channels. Investigations of those exotic states will provide us unique information of the $$bar K N$$ interaction below the threshold, which is still not fully understood so far. Recently, we observed the simplest kaonic nuclei, $$bar K NN$$, having a much deeper binding energy than normal nuclei via inflight $$(K^-, N)$$ reactions at the J-PARC E15 experiment. For further studies, we have proposed a series of experimental programs for the systematic investigation of light kaonic nuclei, from $$bar K N$$ ($$Lambda(1405)$$) to $$bar K NNNN$$. We will measure the $$bar KNNN$$ ($$A = 3$$) system at the new experiment approved as J-PARC E80, as a first step toward a comprehensive study.

Evidence for $$B^+ rightarrow h_c K^+$$ and observation of $$eta_c(2S) to p bar{p} pi^+ pi^-$$

A search for the decays $$B^+ rightarrow h_c K^+$$ and $$B^0 rightarrow h_c K_S^0$$ is performed. Evidence for the decay $$B^+ rightarrow h_c K^+$$ is found; its significance is $$4.8sigma$$. No evidence is found for $$B^0 rightarrow h_c K_S^0$$. The branching fraction for $$B^+ rightarrow h_c K^+$$ is measured to be $$(3.7^{+1.0}_{-0.9}{}^{+0.8}_{-0.8}) times 10^{-5}$$; the upper limit for the $$B^0 rightarrow h_c K_S^0$$ branching fraction is $$1.4 times 10^{-5}$$ at $$90%$$ C.L. In addition, a study of the $$p bar{p} pi^+ pi^-$$ invariant mass distribution in the channel $$B^+ to (p bar{p} pi^+ pi^-) K^+$$ results in the first observation of the decay $$eta_c(2S) to p bar{p} pi^+ pi^-$$ with $$12.1sigma$$ significance. The analysis is based on the 711 $$mathrm{fb}^{-1}$$ data sample collected by the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy $$e^+ e^-$$ collider KEKB at the $$Upsilon(4S)$$ resonance.

Evidence for the decay $$B^0to pbar{p}pi^0$$

We report a search for the charmless baryonic decay $$B^0to pbar{p}pi^0$$ with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711~$$rm fb^{-1}$$ containing $$(772pm 10)times 10^6$$ $$B^0bar{B}^0$$ pairs. The data was collected by the Belle experiment running on the $$Upsilon(4S)$$ resonance at the KEKB $$e^+e^-$$ collider. We measure a branching fraction $$mathcal{B}(B^0to pbar{p}pi^0)= (5.0pm1.8pm0.6)times 10^{-7}$$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The signal has a significance of 3.1 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays $$B^{0}toDelta^+bar{p}$$ and $$B^0tobar{Delta}^-p$$, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction: $$mathcal{B}(B^0to Delta^+bar{p})+mathcal{B}(B^0tobar{Delta}^-p) < 1.6times10^{-6}$$ at 90% confidence level.
