The large six-axis multi-anvil high-pressure press designed for ToF neutron diffraction experiments enables routine data collection at high pressures and high temperatures up to 10 GPa and 2000 K, respectively. To obtain clean data, the beamline is equipped with the incident slits and receiving collimators to eliminate parasitic scattering from the high-pressure cell assembly. The high performance of the diffractometer for the resolution (

-spacing range (0.2-8.4
) together with low-parasitic scattering characteristics enables precise structure determination of crystals and liquids under high pressure and temperature conditions.

However, in most cases, analyses of QENS data are model dependent. We have developed a new method for processing QENS data without a specific model, wherein all modes can be described as combinations of the relaxations based on the exponential law. By this method, we can obtain a new distribution function, , which we call the mode distribution function (MDF), to represent the number of relaxation modes and distributions of the relaxation times in the modes. The deduction of MDF is based on the maximum entropy method. We report the first application to experimental data of liquid water. In addition to the two known modes, the existence of a new relaxation mode of water molecules with an intermediate time scale has been discovered.

The construction of main part of the spectrometer has been completed in spring of 2009. Soon after that, we have started the commissioning work on AMATERAS. The performance of AMATERAS has been examined by test experiments in the course of commissioning. In parallel to these works, we have started the user program on AMATERAS from December 2009 and we are getting scientific results from our spectrometer. In this presentation, we will report the current status of AMATERAS including the results of performance tests and some of examples of scientific outputs.

The powder diffractometer dedicated to high-pressure experiments (PLANET) is now being constructed on BL11 at the spallation neutron source of J-PARC. PLANET aims to study structures of hydrogen-bearing materials including dense hydrous minerals of the Earth's deep interior, magmas and light element liquids. The instrument will realize diffraction and radiography experiments for powder and liquid/glass samples at high pressures up to 20 GPa and 2000 K. It covers d spacing from 0.2 to 4.1
at 90

Deposition profiles of tungsten released from the outer divertor were studied in JT-60U. A neutron activation method was used for the first time to accurately measure deposited tungsten. Surface density of tungsten in the thick carbon deposition layer can be measured by this method. Tungsten was mainly deposited on the inner divertor (around inner strike points) and on the outer wing of the dome. Toroidal distribution of the W deposition was significantly localized near the tungsten released position, while other metallic impurities such as Fe, Cr, Ni were distributed more uniformly. These data indicate that inward drift in the divertor region played a significant role in tungsten transport in JT-60U.
