After the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, artificial radionuclides such as radioactive cesium and iodine were released into the environment. It caused great anxiety not only in the vicinity of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station but also in other regions of Japan. Some members of the Japan Health Physics Society (JHPS) which is a leading academic society in Japan in the field of radiation protection volunteered to establish the website called "Question and Answer about radiation in Daily Life" just after the accident to reduce the anxiety of the residents about the health effects of radiation. After that, Committee of "Question and Answer about radiation in Daily Life" was established in August 2011 in JHPS, and this activity had been carried out under the responsibility of the society that answered with sincerity against questions from the public as specialists until February 2013. The number of questions on the website had gradually decreased as time passed; therefore, the Committee members decided to end these activities in February 2013. In this paper, following contents were shown; the activities of the Q&A website for about two years, the issues of the stance on our activities, the information related to the website activities and the analysis of Twitter data. Based on the experience and the knowledge obtained from these activities, the issues and experiences that can be utilized in the initial response to emergencies for radiation protection experts as well as other fields are presented.

Isomers in stable isotopes have sometimes an important role as a branching point. An isomer with a half-life of 14.1 y in Cd is a branching point from which a nucleosynthesis flow reaches to a rare isotope Sn. The astrophysical origin of Sn has remained still an open question. The s-process abundance of Sn depends on the ratio of the Cd(n, )Cdm reaction cross section to the Cd(n, )Cd reaction cross section. However, the isomer production ratio has not been measured in the energy region higher than the thermal energy. We measured -rays using the HPGe detectors with neutrons at ANNRI.

The band based on the neutron orbital has been extended to higher-spin states, and the band based on the neutron orbital has been somewhat revised. Many transitions decaying to these bands have been observed and consequently, several side bands have been established. Electric dipole transitions from the band to the band have been also observed. The structure of the band was discussed from the viewpoint of "antimagnetic rotation" based on a semiclassical particle plus rotor model taking neutron alignments into account.

We developed a new technique of trace element analysis based on neutron activation analysis with coincident -ray detection. In order to improve the low efficiency of coincident -ray detection, an array of 16 Ge detectors with BGO Compton suppressors was used for this method. High sensitive trace element analyses without chemical separation were carried out by the combination of neutron activation analysis and the method of multiparameter coincidence spectroscopy. In the case of neutron activation analysis, measurements of -rays from trace elements are strongly interfered by the -rays from major elements, e.g., Na, Mn. So usually chemical separation processes are required to eliminate the major elements for determination of the trace elements. But using this method, we can detect very weak rays from trace elements without chemical separations. In this study, we try to measure trace elements in presolar grains. Presolar grains are synthesis in the Super nova or Red giant, and found in the primitive meteorite. We obtained presolar grains from the Allende meteorite, and try to measure trace elements in the grains using this method.

H-InvDB, originally developed as an integrated database of the human transcriptome based on extensive annotation of large sets of fulllength cDNA (FLcDNA) clones, now provides annotation for 120 558 human mRNAs extracted from the International Nucleotide Sequence Databases (INSD), in addition to 54 978 human FLcDNAs, in the latest release H-InvDB. We mapped those human transcripts onto the human genome sequences (NCBI build 36.1) and determined 34 699 human gene clusters, which could define 34 057 protein-coding and 642 non-protein-coding loci; 858 transcribed loci overlapped with predicted pseudogenes.

The bands in the three nuclei have been identified and extended up to high-spin states. In particlular, the interband connection between the band and the ground-state band in Au have been established, leading to a firm spin-and-parity assignment for the band. The low-spin signature inversion is found in the bands in Au.

A new isomer with has been identified at an excitation energy of MeV. The half-life was determined as ns. The extracted value is much smaller than those in Te and Xe. This hindrance is investigated by a shell model calculation.

Two matrix elements and the quadrupole moment of the 2 state were newly derived with the least-squares search code GOSIA. The potential energy surface (PES) was calculated with the Nilsson-Strutinsky model, showing two shallow minima: the first minimum does not contain the orbit below the Fermi surface, while the second minimum does. The ground state band and the intruder band seem to be constructed on the first and the second minimum, respectively. As for the ground state band, the asymmetric rotor model and the IBM in O(6) limit reproduced the experimental values rather well. The shallow PES may suggest unstability of the shape. The ground state band structure may be explained assuming a soft triaxial deformation.
