Spin wave dispersion of the metallic antiferromagnet Mn
Pt was investigated just above the order-order transition temperature by using the inelastic neutron scattering technique. The spin wave dispersion at
= 400 K along [100], [110] and [111] directions was isotropic within the measurement accuracy. These results show that large reduction of the stiffness constant with increasing temperature, and indicate the itinerancy of the magnetic moments.

onto graphite substrates is reported. Films of MgB
with a thickness of tens micrometer were fabricated on the planar and curved surfaces of graphite substrates by means of electrolysis on a mixture of magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and magnesium borate fused at high temperatures in an Ar atmosphere. The electrical resistivity and magnetization measurements revealed that the electroplated MgB
films undergo a superconducting transition with the critical temperature of 36 K.

angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation, an imaging plate, and a diamond anvil cell. The lattice constant
and
, expressed in the hexagonal lattice, decrease monotonously with increasing pressure. The axial rage
decreases monotonously with increasing pressure, indicating the distortion in the rhombohedral [111] direction becomes larger as pressure increases. The signiifcant change of
above 60 GPa, suggested by a recent theoretical calculation, was not observed.

The pressure effect on the lattice constant of NiO with the rhombohedral distorted B1 structure was studied up to 141 GPa by
angle-dispersive x-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation and an imaging plate, with reference to a recent theoretical calculation within the density-functional formalism with the local-spin density approcximation. The lattice constant
and
, expressed in the hexagonal lattice, decrease monotonously with increasing pressure. The axial rage
decreases monotonously with increasing pressure, indicating the enhancement of the rhombohedral distortion. The signiifcant change of
above 60 GPa suggested by the calculation was not observed.
