Sodium-cooled Fast Reactors; JSME Series in Thermal and Nuclear Power Generation, Vol.3, 631 Pages, 2022/07
This book is a collection of the past experience of design, construction, and operation of two reactors, the latest knowledge and technology for SFR designs, and the future prospects of SFR development in Japan. It is intended to provide the perspective and the relevant knowledge to enable readers to become more familiar with SFR technology.

This paper presents status of development of the iSRE (integrated system for repository engineering) as a design supporting system that enables rational designing of a geological disposal repository. The complimentary technique of construction information modeling/management (CIM) has been employed for the development of iSRE. CIM uses a shared three dimensional (3D) model of associated data through common data models. In this paper, as a design support system that conforms to the characteristics of information management about engineering technology represented by repetition of design during the disposal project period, we examined and designed the function of the "iSRE", constructed a prototype, and confirmed the function through a trial simulating actual work in the disposal project. As a result, with respect to the functions of DB and IF of the iSRE, we got a prospect that these functions can be the foundation of information management on engineering technology, and development of the prototype of the iSRE and its test run extracted issues for practical use of such system.

has been suggested to be a spin-singlet state with an excitation gap of
meV, while (CuCl)LaTa
O
has an antiferromagnetic (AFM) ground state. The systems are suspected to be a frustrated quantum spin system due to the competition between the nearest and next-nearest exchange interactions. We have studied magnetic excitation in these systems by ToF inelastic neutron scattering technique. The measurements were performed on powder samples of (CuCl)LaNb
O
and (CuCl)LaTa
O
at a disk-chopper-type spectrometer AMATERAS in J-PARC. In both systems, a band-like excitation was observed at
meV. The
dependence of the intensity of magnetic excitation around 2 meV for (CuCl)LaNb
O
well reproduces that observed at a triple-axis spectrometer, exhibiting characteristics of spin-singlet dimers. On the other hand, (CuCl)LaTa
O
in the AFM state exhibits a different
dependence.

Subsurface water balance observation is a kind of methods in order to estimate a recharge rate. Results of the observation are affected by the various factors such as the scale, the topography, a geological feature, the climate. Therefore, the observation in the regional scale is necessary at many basins. The purpose of this study is to confirm the applicability of the method for the evaluation of runoff volume, which is one of parameters to evaluate the recharge rate by surface water balance observation, by geomorphometry and statistical analyses using digital elevation model (DEM). The runoff index which is the original indicator to evaluate the degree of flow rate on a catchment was calculated by the comparison between the result of geomorphometry and statistics analyses, and the observed data of river flow rate in the monitoring stations. Using this index, the flow rate of the Hiyoshi River was evaluated. The evaluated flow rate was about 60% against the observed flow rate.
