In the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, after the contaminated water is purified, countermeasures of secondary wastes are an important issue. In recent years, alkali-activated materials (AAM) have been developed for solidification of hazardous and radioactive wastes. However, AAM is still under investigation and enhances workability and mechanical properties which are essential in determining the applicability for solidification of wastes such as iron precipitation. In this study, potassium (K)-based AAM were fabricated and were examined the physical properties such as flowability. Furthermore, the physical properties of K-based AAM were compared with sodium-based AAM and ordinary Portland cement.
