ITER計画において日本が調達するポロイダル偏光計測装置は、遠赤外レーザー光(波長:約118ミクロン)の偏光面ファラデー回転角測定に基づき、ITERのプラズマ中心部におけるプラズマ電流分布の計測を行う装置である。原子力機構ではポロイダル偏光計測装置の設計検討を進めており、本講演では、以下の成果について報告する。(1)現在の設計では、上部計測ポートプラグから6本、水平計測ポートプラグから9本のレーザー光をプラズマ中に入射することとしており、これに対応した各ポートプラグ内での機器配置案を作成した。(2)真空容器内の第一壁パネル及びダイバータカセットに設置するレトロリフレクター(レーザー光折り返し用の再帰反射ミラー)について、熱負荷条件を考慮に入れた設計案を作成した。

On the ITER project, Japan will procure the poloidal polarimeter for the measurement of plasma current profile at the core region of ITER plasmas. For the measurement, change in polarimetric properties of probing laser beams that pass through the plasma is detected. At this meeting, progress in the design of the poloidal polarimeter is presented including following key topics. (1) Arrangements of plasma-facing first-mirrors and second mirrors in the upper and the equatorial port plugs are investigated. An initial result from thermal analysis for the first mirror is also shown. (2) The design of the retro-reflector is updated with investigation of its practical procedures of fabrication and installation. The retro-reflectors are installed at the blanket modules and the divertor cassette to reflect back the probing laser beams to the diagnostic hall.
