Frost formation causes the thermal resistance for the heat transfer performance on the heat exchanger. In this study, the frost distribution on the heat exchanger used in the automobile air conditioning system was evaluated by neutron radiography imaging. At the initial stage of the frost formation, the frost formed in the upstream side of the heat exchanger. The frost deposited in the downstream region of the heat exchanger as time proceeds.

The Enrichment Engineering Facility of the Ningyo-toge Environmental Engineering Center was constructed in order to establish the technological basis of plant engineering for uranium enrichment in Japan. Uranium enrichment tests, using natural and reprocessed uranium, were carried out from 1979 to 1989 with two types of centrifuges in the facility. According to the decommissioning plan of the facility, UF$$_{6}$$ handling equipment and supplemental equipment in these plants are intended to be dismantled by 2019 in order to make vacant spaces for future projects use, for example, inventory investigation, precipitation treatment, etc. This report shows the current state of the decommissioning project in the second-half of the fiscal year of 2014.

In order to rationalize for Large Equipment Dismantling Facility (LEDF), the plan of removing vaporizer belong to Cell-fire-extinguishing-system was investigated. In this test, in order to study the behavior of pressure in cell, when the liquefaction carbon dioxide (liq-CO$$_{2}$$) is emitted, and the performanee of extinguishing fires, the test of behavior of pressure and the extinguishing fires take effect. Also the extinguishing fires test used water-mist take effect for complement liq-CO$$_{2}$$. The results as follows; (1)In the test of behavior of pressure, Liq-CO$$_{2}$$ was emitted test room under -40mmAq negative pressure. Room pressure was increase about 0.8mmAq/sec at first. After 29sec, the pressure was increase slowly about 0.1mmAq/sec. After 120sec, the increase was drastic about 1.5mmAq/s. (2)In the test of extinguishing fires by liq-CO$$_{2}$$, under -40mmAq, Polyethylene and wooden chips + cotton (crib) was burn. Polyethylene was extinguished perfectly, but the embers remained in cribs. While the room pressure was increase about 1.3mmAq/sec for 10sec at first. After 30 sec, the pressure was increase about 1mmAq/sec. On the other hand, the drastic increase of pressure disappeared between 100sec to 120sec by change the nozzle size from 14mm$$^{2}$$ to 10mm$$^{2}$$. (3)In the test of extinguishing fires by water-mist, Cribs was extinguished perfectly, but Polyethylene was extinguished difficulty under the same condition of liq-CO$$_{2}$$ test. (4)Therefore the results, It's coped with the fire extinguishing and the keeping negative pressure for LEDF cells. Therefore nozzle size is fitted cell volume as changing 14mm$$^{2}$$ to 10mm$$^{2}$$. (5)As the performance of extinguishing fires by liq-CO$$_{2}$$, It is necessity the concentration of above 50% CO$$_{2}$$ for combustibles as cribs, remaining the embers. (6)On the other hand, It is necessity most study for the adoption of water-mist. Therefore water-mist was not effective for polyethylene, and it needed water ...

By using Ionized Air Type Measurement Apparatus which was designed to measure clearance level of dismantled large-scale things which generate from nuclear plants, after chemical decontaminating machinery and materials which are used in plants, we experimented on a real-scale measurement of clearance level of them. We evaluated performance of detection and confirm applicability as a system of measurement of clearance level.

In JAEA, the high energy ions generated by the interaction between Ultra-intense Ultra-Short pulse laser and thin-foil target is being studied. Irradiating condition must be optimized to generate higher energy ions while suppress the becoming gigantic of laser. It is necessary to know the physical phenomenon in plasma to determine the parameter to optimize from the information on the electron and neutron, X-rays, which are generated simultaneously with ion. In this study, in order to measure electron temperature accurately, an electron spectrometer was developed which have broad range (1-200 MeV). The detector is comprised of permanent magnets and a fluorescent plate, CCD camera. In the presentation, the result of the calibration experiment carried out using 4, 9, 12, 15 MeV quasi-monoenergetic electron beam in HIBMC will be reported. Moreover, response analysis method was inspected using PHITS which is particle transporting Monte Carlo simulation code, and will also report the result.

This study proposes a method for integrating reconstructed models by partial-to-partial registration using photogrammetry reconstructed models and QR codes. It has been considered difficult to integrate photogrammetry reconstructed models because the scale of each reconstructed model is different each time. In this study, we solve this problem by placing QR codes of known size in the environment for reconstruction and scaling each reconstructed model based on the size of the QR code. To verify this method, we compared the accuracy of the integrated model with that of the reconstructed model from all images. The comparison results show that a tolerance of 20 mm is highly accurate. We consider that this approach will be effective in reducing the time required for mapping using robotic and photogrammetric methods.
