The J-PARC main ring (MR) will be increased to 1.3 MW. To cope with the increase in beam intensity, the intra-bunch feedback system (IBFB) needs to be upgraded to handle higher frequencies up to about 200 MHz. To evaluate the performance and understand the optimal parameters after this upgrade, we are developing a particle tracking simulation that includes the necessary components. The recoherence period induced by chromaticity between tracking simulations and experiments are compared and it cannot be discribed by the simple simulations, and we investigate what mechanisms explain this result. The shift of synchrotron tune caused by longitudinal wakes using tracking simulations are calculated and it find that introducing the effect of longitudinal wakes only does not explain the recoherence period in the experimental results.

Materials Science and Fuel Technologies of Uranium and Plutonium mixed Oxide, 171 Pages, 2022/10
Innovative and advanced nuclear reactors using plutonium fuel has been developed in each country. In order to develop a new nuclear fuel, irradiation tests are indispensable, and it is necessary to demonstrate the performance and safety of nuclear fuels. If we can develop a technology that accurately simulates irradiation behavior as a technology that complements the irradiation test, the cost, time, and labor involved in nuclear fuel research and development will be greatly reduced. And safety and reliability can be significantly improved through simulation of nuclear fuel irradiation behavior. In order to evaluate the performance of nuclear fuel, it is necessary to know the physical and chemical properties of the fuel at high temperatures. And it is indispensable to develop a behavior model that describes various phenomena that occur during irradiation. In previous research and development, empirical methods with fitting parameters have been used in many parts of model development. However, empirical techniques can give very different results in areas where there is no data. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to construct a scientific descriptive model that can extrapolate the basic characteristics of fuel to the composition and temperature, and to develop an irradiation behavior analysis code to which the model is applied.

Band gap and Frenkel defect formation energy were used to analyze defect equilibria. Oxygen partial pressure dependence of defect equilibria was evaluated based on oxygen potential experimental data and DFT calculation, and a Brouwer diagram was derived. The defect formation energies, including Frenkel defect, electron-hole pair and so on, were determined and used to evaluate the properties, including oxygen diffusion coefficients, electrical conduction, heat capacity and thermal conductivity. Mechanisms of various properties were discussed for a deeper understanding based on defect chemistry, and the relationship among properties were systematically described.

The basic properties of PuO were reviewed, and the equilibrium defects in PuO were evaluated from the experimental data of the oxygen potential and electrical conductivity as well as the Ab-initio calculation results. Consistency among various properties was confirmed, and the mechanistic models for thermal property representations were derived.

It was reported that Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (1F) had lost the cooling function of the reactor by the Tohoku Earthquake. It is assumed that the core internals became narrow and complicated debris structure mixed with the molten fuel. In consideration of the above situations, the AWJ cutting method, which has features of the long work distance and little heat effect for a material, has been developed for the removal of the molten core internals through cutting tests for 3 years since FY 2012. And it was confirmed that AWJ cutting method is useful for the removal of the core internals etc. The results in FY 2012 were reported in "R&D of the fuel debris removal technologies by abrasive water jet cutting technology (JAEA-Technology 2013-041)" and this report summarizes the results of FY 2012, 2013 and 2014 in this report. It was confirmed the possibility to apply the removal work of the fuel debris and the core internals.

It was reported that Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant had been lost the function of cooling the reactor by the Tohoku Earthquake. It is assumed that the original shapes of the internal core are not kept and the inside of the reactor makes so narrow in the space, however the fuel debris and the molten internal core will have to be removed for the decommissioning of 1F. We concerned the suppression of dross by optimization of cutting conditions, in using some moderated test pieces. And we can improve the cutting capability by heating the objects in advance. Moreover, it's possible that plasma arc cutting can cut off the mixed material the fuel debris and the molten internal core by using the cooperation cutting technique both the plasma arc and the plasma jet cutting. From these results, we have got the prospect that plasma cutting method can apply the removal of the fuel debris and the molten internal core.
