Training courses using JMTR and related facilities as advanced research infrastructures have been newly organized for domestic students, young researchers and engineers since FY2010 from a viewpoint of nuclear human resource development in order to support global expansion of nuclear power industry. In FY 2012, two courses were carried for foreign as well as Japanese young researchers and engineers in order to carry out effective practical training. For the foreigner course, 16 young researchers and engineers were joined from July 23rd to August 10th. For the Japanese course, total 35 young researchers and engineers were joined two courses from August 20th to August 31st and from September 3rd to September 14th. Lectures of these training courses were consisted from basics of nuclear energy to its application, especially for irradiation tests in Motrin this paper, results of these foreigners and Japanese training courses are reported.

On the basis of our understanding, the optimum conditions of lasers and plasmas were clarified, and we proposed the guidelines of laser plasma to obtain clean, efficient and high power EUV source for the practical EUV lithography system. In parallel to such studies, novel targets and high power laser system to generate the optimized EUV source plasma have been developed.

A high-throughput polarization interferometer is being developed to demonstrate for the first time the utility of Fourier transform spectroscopy for Thomson scattering diagnostics of high temperature plasma. Target and
ranges for the prototype polarization interferometer are
1 keV and
5
10
m
, respectively. This paper describes the design of the polarization interferometer and the results of initial tests.

A high performance phase conjugate mirror by stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS-PCM) is applied to Thomson scattering diagnostics in JT-60U for the first time. To improve the measurement performance, two developments were performed with SBS-PCM. First, we developed a new optical design to provide a double-pass scattering scheme with SBS-PCM. A laser beam passing through the plasma is reflected by the SBS-PCM, and a reflected beam returned back through the same path as coming one by the phase conjugate effect, and passed through the plasma again. The double path Thomson scattering scheme demonstrated in JT-60U plasma that a factor of 1.6 increase of the scattered light in contrast with single-pass scattering. Second, an improvement of the output power of YAG laser system using the SBS-PCM was performed. As a result, average power was increased over 8 times in contrast with conventional system, and was achieved up to 368 W (7.4 J 50 Hz). A multi-pass Thomson scattering scheme is also proposed based on the results of double-pass scattering.
