J-PARC Personnel Protection System (PPS) acquires and displays data using by PPS Data System. PPS Data System has been using SCADA software, but it has become difficult to handle increased data due to the limited number of signals. Then, it became necessary to build PPS Data System using different software. Therefore, we decided to construct a new system using EPICS, which has been used in the J-PARC control system. On the other hand, PPS is a system that guarantees the safety of personnel, so it cannot be shut down for long periods of time. In addition, it is the most important safety system and must maintain high reliability and stability, so it would be dangerous to update the entire system in a short period of time. Therefore, we decided to divide the PPS Data System by function and replace it with the new system partially while operating the current system. This allows us to verify the operation of the updated parts and correct any problems without compromising the functionality of the PPS, and to construct a new system with high reliability and stability. This presentation will provide an overview of the new system, the updating process, and the progress.

Interlock system of J-PARC is classified into a personnel protection system (PPS) for human safety and a machine protection system (MPS) for protecting equipment. The PPS of the J-PARC accelerator started from the operation at Linac in 2006 and was completed by the MR operation in 2008. In the next 10 years, some improvements have been made, such as updating video monitoring systems and establishing new interlocks. In addition to describing recent operations including these updatings, this paper reports the current status of inspections and maintenance conducted to maintain and improve reliability.

At JAEA-tandem accelerator facility, we can produce radioactive nuclei by means of proton induced uranium fission, heavy ion fusion or transfer reaction. Since TRIAC was opened for use in 2005, we have provided RNBs of fission products and $$^{8}$$Li. For the production of $$^{8}$$Li, we chose $$^{13}$$C ($$^{7}$$Li, $$^{8}$$Li) neutron transfer reaction by $$^{7}$$Li primary beam and a 99% enriched $$^{13}$$C sintered disk target. The release time of Li ions from the $$^{13}$$C sintered target/ion source system was measured to be 3.2 s. We are developing the RNB of $$^{9}$$Li (T$$_{1/2}$$=178 ms) but the long release time caused a significant loss of the beam intensity. A boron nitride target which has fast release of Li is developed for $$^{9}$$Li beam with intensity of 10$$^{4}$$ pps after separation by JAEA-ISOL.

The $$^{12}$$C($$alpha$$,$$gamma$$)$$^{16}$$O reaction plays an important role in stellar evolution at the stage of helium-burning. Its reaction rate determines the mass fraction of $$^{12}$$C and $$^{16}$$O, the abundance distribution of the elements between oxygen and iron, and the iron-core mass before the super-nova explosion. However, the cross section at low energy still has a large uncertainty mainly due to the poor determination of the ratio of E2 cross section to E1 one. In order to provide a stringent constraint to extrapolation down to stellar temperature, additional data is crucial. Hence we designed new measurement at TRIAC (Tokai Radioactive Ion Accelerator Complex). With use of the 18 GHz ECR (electron cyclotron resonance) ion source set upstream of the TRIAC accelerators, TRIAC has a possibility to deliver intense $$alpha$$-beams. By using the pulsed alpha-beams provide by TRIAC, the high efficiency anti-Compton NaI(Tl) spectrometers, and enriched carbon targets (99.99 % enrichment in $$^{12}$$C), we measured the $$gamma$$-ray spectrum of the $$^{12}$$C($$alpha$$,$$gamma$$)$$^{16}$$O reaction near the resonance at a center of mass energy of 2.4 MeV. In this contribution, we will discuss obtained E1 and E2 cross sections of the reaction.
