We found a quasi-reversible U/U couple that could be applied to the anode reaction of the RFB.

Hight-resolution pollutant model embedded into Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is constructed. We focuses on Particle pollutants. Flow field is calculated using D3Q27 model of LBM and particle is calculated by Lagrangian method. Using this model, we discuss the change in concentration distribution when there is a huge building (GARUDA) in Jakarta as a application. As a result, we can find the relation of differences in particle density and differences in flow velocity due to GARUDA. When the velocity in the case w/o GARUDA is faster than the other, particle velocity in the case w/o GARUDA is reduced. And also, we can find the velocity near the solid boundary is underestimated and the particle density is higher than theoretical value. However, this model is valid far away from the solid boundary.

The liquid products interact with the surroundings such as control rod blades, Zircaloy channel boxes and fuel rods, which may accelerate the fuel bundle degradation. Previous studies on the chemical interactions between S.S. and BC have been performed using the BC powders or pellets. However, almost all of control rods of BWR in Japan consist of granular BC filled in S.S. tubes. In the present study, the chemical reaction tests were carried out using the materials adopted in BWR in Japan, namely granular BC and 304L type S.S. and it was concluded that the kinetics of chemical interaction between S.S. and granular BC is clearly different from that between S.S. and pellet or powder BC.

We investigate the multichannel dissociative ionization of ethanol in intense laser fields by the photoelectron-photoion coincidence momentum imaging and identify separately the ionization and subsequent electronic excitation in ethanol. From the energy correlation between a photoelectron and a fragment ion, we reveal the amount of the internal energy gained by ethanol cations from the laser field varies depending on the respective ionization and electronic excitation pathways.

We have constructed a high power kHz laser system using Yb:YAG thin-disk as a gain medium for a driver laser of THz wave generation. A 4-bounce regenerative amplifier is constructed and output energy up to 10 mJ is obtained. Using compressed pulse, we demonstrated THz wave generation with LiNbO crystal.

The depth profiles of hydrogen were measured at outer surface of fuel claddings corroded in high temperature steams at 1073-1473 K to examine the barrierness of surface oxide layer against the hydrogen absorption/desorption. The results indicated that the oxide layer would be no longer the barrier against the hydrogen under some conditions although it remained as the barrier against the oxidation.

From numerical simulations of the amplification processes of high-order harmonic pulses in the undulator, optimum conditions of the electron bunch duration interacting with the high-order harmonic pulses were investigated for generating full-coherent and intense pulses in the extreme ultraviolet wavelength region.

It is shown that both the electronic ground state and the first electronically excited state of CHOH are produced at the moment of photoelectron emission. From the observed correlation between the electronic states of CHOH prepared at the moment of photoelectron emission and the kinetic energy release of the fragment ions, it is revealed that CHOH prepared in the electronic ground state at the photoelectron emission gains larger internal energy in the end than that prepared in the electronically excited state. The averaged internal energy of CHOH just before the dissociation is found to increase when the laser field intensity increases from 9 to 23 TW/cm. And when the laser pulse duration increases from 35 to 800 fs.

The 13th harmonic of a Ti:sapphire laser has been significantly amplified with the SCSS test accelerator. The temporal and spatial overlap of the electron beam and the high harmonic radiation were precisely tuned for achieving the seeded free electron laser operation. With numerical simulation the present HH-seeded FEL scheme could readily be applied to the wavelength region down to 10 nm.

We reveal that the nascent population in the electronically excited CHOH prepared by the ionization decreases as the laser intensity increases, while the subsequent electronic excitation is enhanced through the resonant electronic transitions. Ionization and electronic excitation mechanisms are described based on the electronic state distributions of CHOH.

The resonant and non-resonant two-photon single ionization processes of He were investigated using intense free electron laser light in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV) region (53.4-61.4 nm) covering the 1s-2p and 1s-3p resonant transitions of He. On the basis of the dependences of the yield of He on the XUV light-field intensity at 53.4, 58.4, 56.0 and 61.4 nm, the absolute values of the two-photon ionization cross sections of He at the four different wavelengths and their dependence on the light-field intensity were determined for the first time.
