Chromatographic studies of rutherfordium (element 104) with tributylphosphate

周期表第4族に属するZr,Hf並びに超アクチノイド元素Rfの塩酸溶液からトリブチルリン酸(TBP)への抽出挙動を調べた。8M HCl/TBP系においてZr, Hf, Rfそれぞれの分配係数は1180, 65,150となりTBPへの抽出はHfRfZrの順で大きくなるという興味ある結果が得られた。これは元素の周期性だけからは説明できない。したがって、相対論効果を考慮した理論計算に、加水分解と錯形成間の競争過程を導した計算を行うと実験の傾向をよく再現できることがわかった。
