The sum of spectroscopic factors of orbital is found to be 1.0 0.3. The result shows that the O core of F nucleus significantly differs from a free O nucleus, and the core consists of 35% O, and 65% excited O. The result shows that the O core of F nucleus significantly differs from a free O nucleus. The result may infer that the addition of the proton considerably changes the neutron structure in F from that in O, which could be a possible mechanism responsible for the oxygen dripline anomaly.

Times Cited Count:8 Percentile:37.59(Materials Science, Multidisciplinary)We present a detailed nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) study of Pu in bulk and powdered single-crystal plutonium tetraboride (PuB), which has recently been investigated as a potential correlated topological insulator. The Pu NMR spectra are consistent with axial symmetry of the shift tensor showing for the first time that Pu NMR can be observed in an anisotropic environment and up to room temperature. The temperature dependence of the Pu shift, combined with a relatively long spin-lattice relaxation time (), indicate that PuB adopts a nonmagnetic state with gaplike behavior consistent with our density functional theory calculations. The temperature dependencies of the NMR Knight shift and imply bulk gaplike behavior confirming that PuB is a good candidate topological insulator.

The gammas and neutrons induced by the beam as well as the backgrounds from the cosmic rays were measured, and the results are described in this article.

We observed six consecutive decays following the implantation of a heavy particle in nearly the same position in the semiconductor detector, in extremely low background condition. The fifth and sixth decays are fully consistent with the sequential decays of Db and Lr both in decay energies and decay times. This indicates that the present decay chain consisted of 113, Rg (Z = 111), Mt (Z = 109), Bh (Z = 107), Db (Z = 105), and Lr (Z = 103) with firm connections. This result, together with previously reported results from 2004 and 2007, conclusively leads the unambiguous production and identification of the isotope 113, of the 113th element.

The incommensurate propagation vector is expressed as [0, , 0], due to competition between the nearest-neighbor and next-nearest-neighbor interactions in trimerized chains. The value of is 0.316 to 0.331, changing rapidly at K. We confirmed that the intra-trimer interaction is AF. The magnetic excitation peaks were obsereved at 0.46, 0.68, and 1.02 meV. The weak Q dependence indicates the discrete energy levels, which do not contradict the AF trimer model with the intra-trimer interaction value of 0.29 meV (3.4 K).

The SI was exposed to 5 mm pinhole collimated thermal neutron beam with a LiF crystal and a neutron imaging plate (NIP) for 120 min in JRR-3 thermal neutron radiography facility. The image in NIP was read out with a readout resolution of 50 m. The image of SI in LiF crystal was read out with pixel size of 1.38 m using a laser confocal microscope. All gaps were clearly observed in the images for both LiF crystal and NIP, but small holes were not recognized for NIP. The experiment showed that LiF crystals had excellent characteristics as neutron imaging detectors such as high sensitivity, high spatial resolution, wide dynamic range and so on. In the paper, detailed characteristics of LiF crystals are compared with those of other neutron imaging detectors: NIP, a combination of fluorescent converter and cooled CCD camera.

Here we extend these studies to two particle correlations where one particle is an electron from the decay of a heavy flavor meson and the other is a charged hadron from either the decay of the heavy meson or from jet fragmentation. These measurements provide more detailed information about the interaction between heavy quarks and the quark-gluon matter. We find the away-side-jet shape and yield to be modified in Au+Au collisions compared to collisions.

The integrated invariant cross sections calculated from the fitted distributions are found to be consistent with existing measurements and with statistical model predictions.
