Focusing on the cover layer materials (as the Radon Barrier Materials), which could have the effect to restrain the radon from scattering into the air and the effect of the radiation shielding, we produced the radon barrier materials with crude bentonite on an experimental basis, using the rotary type comprehensive unit for grinding and mixing, through which we carried out the evaluation of the characteristics thereof.

In "Fugen", a turbine system equipment is scheduled to be done in the clearance when it is dismantled for the decommissioning. It is necessary to establish the Clearance examining and approving technique like the method of evaluating the radiation level of the setting of the scaling factor according to the contaminated condition of "Fugen" in advance. The task that undertook the analysis, the evaluation result, and the examining and approving technique establishment of the radiation level for the clearance examining and approving technique establishment that "Fugen" had executed so far and the plan for the future were arranged.

In this presentation, results of the operational condition survey of JAEA's fire alarms will be presented in order to reduce the actual occurrence of false alarms. This investigation collected number of detectors installed and their ages, the occurrence of false alarms and their causes for three years (2018-2020). As a result of this investigation, it was found that more than 70% of the 34,400 fire alarm detectors in JAEA have been used for more than 20 years. And 65 false alarms have been reported for three years. Furthermore, 60% of the false alarm detectors were found to be used in areas requiring environment improvement.
