Here, we propose a comprehensive evaluation system for stellar flares, focusing on Stellar Proton Events (SPE) on selected extrasolar planets with hypothetical atmospheres and oceans. This is done by cross-linking KIC flare-observed and flare-estimated stars by their start pots that are directly linked with the Monte Carlo simulation system PHITS through the exoplanetary database system ExoKyoto. The estimated dose at ground level for each planetary surface did not exceed the critical dose for complex animals.

Times Cited Count:6 Percentile:52.98(Nuclear Science & Technology)In an attempt to investigate Cs-Te corrosion depth dependence on distribution of chromium carbide precipitation in high chromium steel, Cs-Te corrosion out-pile tests of two 9Cr steels with different distributions of chromium carbide were carried out at 975K for 100h and their corrosion depths were compared. The corrosion is obviously more advanced in a specimen which has grain boundary carbide than in the one that does not. A considerable reason of the result is that the carbide distributed at grain boundaries promoted the corrosion reaction and the corrosion extended along the grain boundary. This is the first case in which the Cs-Te corrosion depth dependence on distribution of chromium carbide precipitation in Fe-Cr steel is clarified experimentally.

One of the key issues for producing such as high current beams is to improve non-uniform production of the negative ions. In order to improve the uniformity of the negative ions, a tent-shaped magnetic filter has newly been developed and tested for JT-60SA negative ion source. The original tent-shaped filter significantly improved the logitudunal uniformity of the extracted H
ion beams. The logitudinal uniform areas within a
10 deviation of the beam intensity were improved from 45% to 70% of the ion extraction area. However, this improvement degrades a horizontal uniformity. For this, the uniform areas was no more than 55% of the total ion extraction area. In order to improve the horizontal uniformity, the filter strength has been reduced from 660 Gasus
cm to 400 Gasus
cm. This reduction improved the horizontal uniform area from 75% to 90% without degrading the logitudinal uniformity. This resulted in the improvement of the uniform area from 45% of the total ion extraction areas. This improvement of the uniform area leads to the production of a 22A H
ion beam from 450 mm
1100 mm with a small amount increase of electron current of 10%. The obtained beam current fulfills the requirement for JT-60SA.

In order to confirm the feasibility of high-pressure neutron diffraction at TAKUMI, we have performed a number of R&Ds using a various high-pressure devices. Optimization of materials such as anvil and pressure medium and developments of collimators have made possible reduction of background and contamination noise. Incident and diffracted neutron beams travel through high-pressure device, which causes attenuation of neutron. We investigated the method of attenuation correction.

The high-pressure neutron experiments above 10 GPa are limited so far due to the small neutron flux, which is insufficient for tiny high-pressure sample. Recent construction of the intense pulsed neutron source around the world has changed the situation. Inspired by the new Japanese pulsed neutron source JSNS at J-PARC, we started the high-P neutron experiments at the already operated beamlines (TAKUMI, NOVA) and the construction of the new beamline dedicated for high-pressure use (PLANET). This talk introduces these activities.

We have studied the method of attenuation correction and analyzed crystal structure using corrected neutron diffraction pattern.
