We have conducted the conceptual design of the IH-DTL with the permanent-magnet quadrupole (PMQ) focusing for the medical radioisotope (RI) production. For At-211 production, a helium beam should be accelerated over 7.25 MeV/u. The lattice of the PMQs inside IH-DTL was designed as FFOODDOO so that the gradient of PMQ was lower. The cell parameters were also designed from the periodical structure of the PMQ lattice and the commercial semiconductor RF power supply specifications. After designing the cell parameters, we evaluated the beam dynamics with the space-charge effect by 2D/3D design of cavity and beam tracking. With 2D design of three DTL tanks, the helium beam is accelerated over 7.25 MeV/u with over 90% transmission. 3D design of the first tank cavity was also conducted. After the geometry of cavity was optimized with the ridge tuner and cavity taper, the transmission was over 95% with 3D cavity model of the first tank.

The J-PARC main ring (MR) will be increased to 1.3 MW. To cope with the increase in beam intensity, the intra-bunch feedback system (IBFB) needs to be upgraded to handle higher frequencies up to about 200 MHz. To evaluate the performance and understand the optimal parameters after this upgrade, we are developing a particle tracking simulation that includes the necessary components. The recoherence period induced by chromaticity between tracking simulations and experiments are compared and it cannot be discribed by the simple simulations, and we investigate what mechanisms explain this result. The shift of synchrotron tune caused by longitudinal wakes using tracking simulations are calculated and it find that introducing the effect of longitudinal wakes only does not explain the recoherence period in the experimental results.

has huge electronic specific heat coefficient and its ground state could be located in the vicinity of the quantum critical point. Indeed, a magnetic long-range order was observed under pressure above 1-2 GPa. To investigate magnetic ground state, we have carried out muon spin relaxation measurements and confirm non-magnetic ground state with fluctuating tiny magnetic moment.

To this end, a novel in-house and multi-purpose prototype DFB setup was developed for multiple applications at the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC). Being efficient, low-cost, and compact is key to achieving a cost-effective system that fulfills the performance specifications. A field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based design with a digital signal processing (DSP) function is used. This arrangement compensates for RF phase fluctuations and amplitude modulations by employing a proportional and integral (PI) feedback controller. The system was utilized to conduct high-power tests on the interdigital H-mode drift-tube linac (IH-DTL) cavity of a muonlinac for short RF pulses. The setup was also tested on a buncher cavity (Buncher-2) in the J-PARC linac, achieving efficient performance for longer RF pulses. The stability of the RF accelerating field in the IH-DTL was achieved at
0.25% peak-to-peak (pp) in amplitude and
0.36 degree pp in phase. For the Buncher-2, the amplitude stability of
0.18% pp and phase stability of
0.13 degree pp were obtained. This study discusses the design aspects of a cost-effective DFB system and reports high-power measurements.

A muon linac is under development for future muon g-2/EDM experiments at J-PARC. The linac provides a 212 MeV muon beam to an MRI-type compact storage ring. After the initial acceleration using the electrostatic field created by mesh and cylindrical electrodes, the muons are accelerated using four types of radio-frequency accelerators. To validate the linac design as a whole, end-to-end simulations were performed using General Particle Tracer. In addition, error studies were performed to investigate the effects on beam and spin dynamics of various errors in the accelerator components and input beam distribution. This paper describes the results of the end-to-end simulations and error studies.

We have developed
measurement and analysis techniques in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. To begin with, time-division depth profiles of gate stacked film interfaces have been achieved by NAP-HARPES (Near Ambient Pressure Hard X-ray Angle-Resolved Photo Emission Spectroscopy) data. We then have promoted our methods to quickly perform peak fittings and depth profiling from time-division ARPES data, which enables us to realize 4D-XPS analysis. It is found that the traditional maximum entropy method (MEM) combined with Jackknife averaging of sparse modeling in NAP-HARPES data is effective to perform dynamic measurement of depth profiles with high precision.

and water vapor on characteristics of dynamic behavior of hydrogen/air premixed flames were elucidated experimentally. By Schlieren photography, wrinkles on the flame surface were clearly observed in low equivalence ratios. The propagation velocity increased monotonically as the flame radius became larger and flame acceleration was found. Increasing the addition of inert gas, the propagation velocity decreased, especially in the case of CO
addition. Moreover, the Markstein length and the wrinkling factor decreased. This indicated that the addition of Co
or H
O promoted the unstable motion of hydrogen flames, which could be due to the enhancement of the diffusive-thermal effect. Based on the characteristics of dynamic behavior of hydrogen flames, the parameters used in the mathematical model on propagation velocity including flame acceleration was obtained, and then the flame propagation velocity under various conditions was predicted.
