As a method to determine the resonance frequency, Rabi-oscillation spectroscopy has been developed. In contrast to conventional spectroscopy which draws the resonance curve, Rabi-oscillation spectroscopy fits the time evolution of the Rabi oscillation. By selecting the optimized frequency, it is shown that the precision is twice as good as conventional spectroscopy with a frequency sweep. Furthermore, the data under different conditions can be treated in a unified manner, allowing more efficient measurements for systems consisting of a limited number of short-lived particles produced by accelerators such as muons. We have developed a fitting function that takes into account the spatial distribution of muonium and the spatial distribution of the microwave intensity to apply this method to ground-state muonium hyperfine structure measurements at zero field. It was applied to the actual measurement data, and the resonance frequencies were determined under various conditions. The result of our analysis gives $$nu_{rm HFS}$$ = 4 463 301.61 $$pm$$ 0.71 kHz.

High precision measurements of the ground state hyperfine structure (HFS) of muonium is a stringent tool for testing bound-state quantum electrodynamics (QED) theory, determining fundamental constants of the muon magnetic moment and mass, and searches for new physics. Muonium is the most suitable system to test QED because both theoretical and experimental values can be precisely determined. Previous measurements were performed decades ago at LAMPF with uncertainties mostly dominated by statistical errors. At the J-PARC Muon Science Facility (MUSE), the MuSEUM collaboration is planning complementary measurements of muonium HFS both at zero and high magnetic field. The new high-intensity muon beam that will soon be available at H-Line will provide an opportunity to improve the precision of these measurements by one order of magnitude. An overview of the different aspects of these new muonium HFS measurements, the current status of the preparation for high-field measurements, and the latest results at zero field are presented.

At the Muon Science Facility (MUSE) of J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex), the MuSEUM collaboration is planning new measurements of the ground state hyperfine structure (HFS) of muonium both at zero field and at high magnetic field. The previous measurements were performed both at LAMPF (Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility) with experimental uncertainties mostly dominated by statistical errors. The new high intensity muon beam that will soon be available at MUSE H-Line will provide an opportunity to improve the precision of these measurements by one order of magnitude. An overview of the different aspects of these new muonium HFS measurements, the current status of the preparation, and the results of a first commissioning test experiment at zero field are presented.

Magnetic field ($$B$$) variation of the electrical polarization $$P$$$$_{c}$$ ($${parallel}$$c) of the perfect triangular lattice antiferromagnet RbFe (MoO$$_4$$)$$_2$$ is examined up to the saturation point of the magnetization for B$${perp}c$$. $$P$$$$_{c}$$ is observed only in phases for which chirality is predicted in the in-plane magnetic structures. No strong anomaly is observed in $$P$$$$_{c}$$ at the field at which the spin modulation along the c axis exhibits a discontinuity to the commensurate state. These results indicate that ferroelectricity in this compound originates predominantly from triangular-spin chirality. The obtained field-temperature phase diagrams of ferroelectricity well agree with those theoretically predicted for the spin chirality of a Heisenberg spin triangular lattice antiferromagnet.

In the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), only 30 % patients can be operated due to complication of liver cirrhosis or multiple intrahepatic tumours. Tumour cell destruction in BNCT is necessary to accumulate a sufficient quantity of $$^{10}$$B atoms in tumour cells. In this study, we prepared BSH entrapped WOW emulsion by double emulsifying technique using iodized poppy-seed oil (IPSO), BSH and surfactant, for selective intra-arterial infusion to HCC, and performed the neutron dosimetry using CT scan imaging of HCC patient. The $$^{10}$$B concentrations in VX-2 tumour obtained by delivery with WOW emulsion was superior to those by conventional IPSO mix emulsion. In case of HCC, we performed the feasibility estimation of 3D construction of tumor according to the CT imaging of a patient with epithermal neutron mode at JRR-4. Normal liver biologically weighted dose is restricted to 4.9 Gy-Eq; the max., min. and mean tumour weighted dose are 43.1, 7.3, and 21.8 Gy-Eq, respectively, in 40 minutes irradiation. In this study, we show that $$^{10}$$B entrapped WOW emulsion could be applied to novel intra-arterial boron delivery carrier for BNCT.

For the rapid proton capture process ($$it{rp}$$-process) in X-ray bursts and the core-collapse stage of supernovae, proton-rich $$it{pf}$$-shell nuclei far from the line of stability play important roles. Studies of the feeding ratios and half-lives of the $$beta$$ and electron capture decays of these proton-rich $$it{pf}$$-shell nuclei are of great astrophysical interest not only for nucleosynthesis but also for Fermi and Gamow-Teller transition study. The experiment to measure the half life of $$beta$$ decay of $$^{46}$$Cr was performed using the low-energy RI beam separator (CRIB) of the Center for Nuclear Study (CNS), University of Tokyo. The $$^{46}$$Cr particles were produced by the $$^{36}$$Ar + $$^{12}$$C fusion reaction. A natural C foil of 0.56 mg/cm$$^{2}$$ was installed as the primary target. The $$^{36}$$Ar primary beam was accelerated up to 3.6 MeV/nucleon by the RIKEN AVF cyclotron. A double sided Si strip detector (DSSD) of 500-$$mu$$m thickness was used as a $$beta$$-ray detector. A Si detector of 1.5-mm thickness was placed just behind the DSSD for a $$beta$$-ray detector. To measure $$beta$$-delayed $$gamma$$ rays, 3 clover and 1 coaxial Ge detectors were set around the target chamber. The beam was pulsed to measure the half life of the $$beta$$ decay of $$^{46}$$Cr. The $$beta$$-delayed $$gamma$$ ray of $$^{46}$$Cr was observed in this experiment. The experimental result will be discussed.
