The momentum database enables us to assess a parametric dependency of momentum transport in a wider range of dimensionless parameters related to transport. Such observation will contribute to make a scaling/modeling on momentum transport for future devices like ITER and DEMO. On the other hand, the investigation of a difference in observation by comparing the experimental conditions will give a useful information to realize what plasma parameter is the key for the momentum transport coefficients.

Studied were effects on: plasma rotation and locking; confinement; L-H transition; edge localized mode (ELM) suppression by resonant magnetic perturbations; ELMs and the H-mode pedestal; energetic particle losses; and more. The experiments used a 3-coil mock-up of 2 magnetized ITER TBMs in one ITER equatorial port. The experiments did not reveal any effect likely to preclude ITER operations with a TBM-like error field. The largest effect was slowed plasma toroidal rotation v across the entire radial profile by as much as via non-resonant braking. Changes to global , and were 3 times smaller. These effects are stronger at higher and lower . Other effects were smaller.

The film shows significant color change in the visible range and the sensitivity of the film to absorbed dose was enhanced by addition of chloride containing compounds such as chloral hydrate or 2,2,2-trichloroethanol. The film is useful as dosimeters for dose measurements e.g. in food irradiation and environmental protection.

Low-dose dosimeters were developed based on the mixture films of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and the acid-sensitive dye leucomalachite green (LMG). Chloral hydrate (RX) was added to the mixture for enhancement of the radiation sensitivity of the film dosimeters. Different film dosimeter materials were prepared using 9.07 10mole LMG per one gram PVB with various RX:LMG molar concentration ratio. The dosimeter response, which is expressed in terms of change in absorbance at 628 nm per unit thickness, increased linearly with dose and RX concentration. The PVB-LMG dosimeter system, in which the ratio of RX concentration to that of LMG is higher than 10, show measurable dose range of 1-100 Gy for Co -rays.

A series of experiments was performed on DIII-D to mock-up the field that will be induced in a pair of ferromagnetic Test Blanket Modules (TBMs) in ITER to determine the effects of such error fields on plasma operation and performance. A set of coils producing both poloidal and toroidal fields was placed inside a re-entrant horizontal port close to the plasma. The coils produce a localized ripple due to the toroidal field (TF) + TBM up to 5.7%, which is more than four times that expected from a pair of representative 1.3 ton TBMs in ITER. The experiments show that the reduction in the toroidal rotation is sensitive to the ripple. On the other hand, the confinement is reduced by up to 15-18% for local ripple 3% but is hardly affected at 1.7% local ripple.
