Reflectance spectra of excavated material exhibit a hydroxyl (OH) absorption feature that is slightly stronger and peak-shifted compared with that observed for the surface, indicating that space weathering and/or radiative heating have caused subtle spectral changes in the uppermost surface. However, the strength and shape of the OH feature still suggests that the subsurface material experienced heating above 300
C, similar to the surface. In contrast, thermophysical modeling indicates that radiative heating does not increase the temperature above 200
C at the estimated excavation depth of 1 m, even if the semimajor axis is reduced to 0.344 au. This supports the hypothesis that primary thermal alteration occurred due to radiogenic and/or impact heating on Ryugu's parent body.

From the calculation, the local plasma density increase is observed in the region close to the antenna coil. The magnetic field line with absolute magnetic flux density 30-120 Gauss results in the magnetization of electron which leads to high local ionization rate. The results suggest that modification of magnetic configuration can be made to reduce plasma heat flux onto the antenna.

O

K, respectively. Using unpolarized and polarized elastic neutron scattering we show that the two transitions are due to the existence of frustrated minority spins in this compound. Upon cooling, at
the spins on the
111
kagom
planes order ferromagnetically in the plane and antiferromagnetically between the planes (phase I), leaving the spins on the
111
triangular planes that separate the kagom
planes frustrated and disordered. At the lower
, the triangular spins also order in the
111
plane (phase II). We also present a scenario involving exchange interactions that qualitatively explains the origin of the two purely magnetic phase transitions.

O
undergoes a three-dimensional spin-Peierls transition at
= 7.8 K from a cubic paramagnetic to a tetragonal N
el state. The N
el state has a spiral magnetic structure with a characteristic wave vector of
when the
axis elongated. Here we report our spherical neutron polarimetry experiments to investigate the spiral spin structure in detail. Our results indicate that the spins lie in the
plane perpendicular to the direction of the spiral modulation. We also found that the spiral structure in the
plane is elliptical with the
-component larger by
24% than the
-component, suggesting a strong coupling between the magnetic structure and structural distortion. Unpolarized neutron diffraction under an external magnetic field has also been performed. The magnetic field dependence suggests existence of magnetic anisotropy in the N
el state, which is consistent with our previous inelastic studies.

Wideband low-output-impedance RF system for the second harmonic cavity in the ISIS synchrotron has been developed by the collaboration between ANL (US), KEK (Japan) and RAL (UK). Low output impedance is realized by the feedback from plate to grid of the final triode amplifier, resulting in less than 30 ohms over a wide frequency range of 2.7 - 6.2 MHz. The vacuum tubes in the driver and final stages are both operated in class A. High power test was performed with a ferrite-loaded second harmonic cavity, where the bias current was swept at 50 Hz repetition rate. The maximum voltage of 12 kV peak per accelerating gap was obtained stably at earlier period of an acceleration cycle. A beam test with this system is planned at the ISIS synchrotron soon.

A commissioning of the J-PARC linac DTL1 is now under way at KEK. A 30mA H
beam was accelerated to 19.7-MeV, and 100% transmission was obtained with a 20-msec-pulse-width and 12.5-Hz-repetition beam. In this paper, present status of the DTL1 commissioning and preliminary results of the commissioning, such as emittance measurements, are presented.

As a joint project of KEK and JAERI, a MW class of high intensity proton accelerator (J-PARC), consisting of Linac, 3 GeV-RCS, 50 GeV-MR, is under construction. For this accelerator, it is required to minimize the beam loss (typically, lower than0.1
1 W/m at the linac). To achieve the requirement, beam trajectory needs to be controlled with accuracy of some 100
m. The first stage of the acceleration (up to 181 MeV during the first stage of construction) is done by linac. The beam position monitor (BPM) in the linac utilizes 4 stripline pickups (50 ohm) on the beam transportation chamber. In this paper, systematic calibration of the BPM is described.

has the spinel structure, in which geometrical frustration exists between the Cr
moments located at the corners of the tetrahedron. It shows an incommensurate antiferromagnetic ordering below
=7.8K with a characteristic wave vector of
(
). We first performed a 1D polarized neutron analysis and determined that the Cr
moments has a planer anisotropy in the
plane, indicating that the magnetic structure is spiral. Finally, the 3D polarized neutron analysis using a CRYOPAD on TAS-1 at JRR-3 determined that the magnetic structure is elliptical spiral in the
plane with ellipsoid slightly elongated along the
axis. The origin of the structure will be discussed.
