In MLF of J-PARC, since weights of a building and shields are considerably heavy as 130,000 tons and 80,000 tons, respectively, large settlement of the MLF building is expected. The 3NBT line with 300 m in length is similar. To achieve a precise alignment under the large settlement, we conducted periodical survey measurements at the MLF building and 3NBT. At the completion of construction of the MLF building in December 2005, the settlement was about 40 mm. By extrapolating this result with weights to be added in the future for neutron beam line shields, we predicted that the MLF building settled in about 68mm at the completion of all neutron instrument construction. We decided that the muon target should be installed 5 mm higher than the neutron target with expecting future uneven settlement of the MLF building. The validation in the end of 2007 indicated that the measured level difference came up to the expected value.

Construction of J-PARC pulsed spallation neutron source was completed. Main components of the spallation neutron source, as the mercury target container, reflector, moderators, proton beam window and etc, are damaged by irradiation of proton and/or neutron. Therefore, each component has to be replaced periodically. All these components must be replaced by remote handling, because of the high activation by proton beam and neutron irradiation. Remote handling facility for the neutron source components consists of handling device for the targetas the power manipulator, the target replacement truck for the target container replacement and other facilities for maintenance or replacement work, and the storage facility for cool down of the radioactivity in spent components including some kinds of rack for temporary storage and the cutting device for reducing volume. In this presentaion, it is repoted that the design and testresult of remote handling facility.

A Materials and Life science Facility (MLF) is one of the experimental facilities in J-PARC. The MLF consists of a neutron experimental facility and a muon experimental facility. The main components of the spallation neutron source and muon source have to be exchanged in constant period caused by material damage due to proton/neutron irradiation. But the components cannot be maintained by hands-on work, because of radiation from the components. The components are necessary to be maintained by remote handling. Some kinds of areas are provided to do several remote handling works and special devices for the remote handling are installed in MLF. In this paper, the remote handling devices in the MLF and remote handling tests for several components are shown.
