This study investigates molecular changes caused by the F54L mutation and explores the factors contributing to the Adem rat phenotype. Results showed that the F54L mutant was less active than WT Txn1 on insulin substrates, but no significant difference in redox potential was observed. On the other hand, F54L is more sensitive to degeneration in the body temperature range than the wild type. Furthermore, the crystal structure showed that F54 formed hydrophobic interactions with the surrounding hydrophobic amino acids. Moreover, the MD simulation results show increased fluctuations around the F54L mutation, as well as a tendency for the distance between residues C32 and C35 at the catalytic center to widen. The molecular dynamics of the F54L mutation may affect the substrate reduction activity, thermal stability, and kinetic stability.

adhering to the crevice. As a result, the chloride distribution in the corroded area inside the crevice was visualised. A calibration curve for the amount of
Cl
was obtained from the relationship between the time of photosensitivity to
-ray emitted by
Cl
and the luminance of the imaging plate. The chloride content in the corroded crevice was quantitatively evaluated based on the calibration curve. These visualisation and quantitative evaluation methods were also applied to tests in which specimens were left in pure water after crevice corrosion tests, and the behaviour of chloride in crevice corrosion was discussed.

During the first year of the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, a total of about 45,000 employees of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) left their original workplaces to engage in telephone counseling, assistance of temporary return, and environmental monitoring. In particular, the staff who worked on the telephone counseling service, which directly contacted the residents, suffered from the stress associated with emotional labor. Systematic mental health care to the staff who engaged in these tasks was provided them in the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Engineering Laboratories of the JAEA. This paper considers this activity as a concrete example of "support for supporters" and discusses the mental health of the staff who provide support to the residents in a nuclear disaster.

In the surface region, hydrogen absorption showed almost similar behavior regardless of the NPs size. It was found that the octahedral sites are more favorable than the tetrahedral sites for hydrogen occupation. We also clarified that the hydrogen atoms absorbing on the smaller-sized Pd NPs diffuse to the subsurface more actively because of the weakened Pd-H bond by the surface disordering, which plays an important role in hydrogen adsorption at a low H
pressure.
