The neutron scattering experimental instruments have been commissioned from May in this year at J-PARC/MLF. At the same time, the data acquisition software and analysis software of these instruments have begun to be commissioning. The experimental users will control the devices of the instruments and analyze their acquiring data with these software on the software framework of MLF computing environment. In the software framework, they can seamlessly use various software from "Working Desktop" which is based on the script language "Python" through the network. In this presentation, we will report the current status of our software framework.

We have started the commissioning of the neutron scattering experiment instruments since May 2008 in MLF, J-PARC. Simultaneously, we have started the commissioning of the data acquisition and analysis software. Experimental users operate this software through the software framework which we have developed. The software framework was developed based on Python which is an object oriented script language. The system implemented with the software framework can seamlessly measure, analyze and visualize with some modules which are experimental control and data analysis. In this presentation, we report the process of the construction and the current status of the software.

We have developed the software framework in MLF computing environment from 2006 to 2008. The software framework is the fundamental software for neutron and muon experimental instruments in J-PARC/MLF. Currently, the software framework is installed at 4D Space Access Neutron Spectrometer (BL01), IBARAKI Biological Crystal Diffractometer (BL03), Cold-Neutron Disk-Chopper Spectrometer (BL14), Engineering Materials Diffractometer (BL19) and High Intensity Total Diffractometer (BL21). The features of experimental control, analysis, visualization and authorization are already implemented in the software framework. In this year, we will start the development to introduce the feature of database. We will present the current status and future plan of the software framework.

The first neutron was produced on May 2008, the first muon was extracted on September 2008 and the operation for the first user program started on December 2008 in J-PARC/MLF. The beam power of proton are increasing from 4.3kW to 120kW, the number of the experimental instruments are increasing from 8 to 14. In addition, the constructions of new instruments were started in this year. Many users started the experiments in each instruments and measured the data. Under these situations, the requirements of the MLF computing environment are increased more and more. In this year, we provided the project management server, the trial distributed data processing system, the sample management system with database and Gigabit Ethernet backbone.

Utsusemi is the software to analyze and visualize data measured by the neutron scattering experiments at MLF in J-PARC. Utsusemi has achieved to treat the data obtained by the event-recording method, which MLF had adopted as a standard data acquisition system, and to realize the multi-Ei method on the inelastic scattering measurement for the first time in the world. On the other hand, users in MLF require to see the analyzed data while measuring to decide next experimental schedules. We, therefore, had started to develop the software to obtain the information, analysis and visualization of measured data in real time since last year. We report the current status for these developments.

From the beginning of MLF running, users have strongly required to see the current data during the measurement to decide next experimental conditions and schedules. To realize "real-time" data treatment we considered that the message queue technology of an asynchronous communications protocol should be utilized for our data acquisition system and data reduction software. In these years, we decided to adopt a Publish-Subscrib model using this technology and developed new modules working in our DAQ middleware, which send event-recorded data to a message queue server as a data publisher.

Using the Utsusemi software we have achieved to analyze the data obtained by the event-recording method, which MLF had adopted as a standard data acquisition system, and to realize the multi-Ei method on the inelastic scattering measurement, data reduction and visualization of multi-dimensional excitation system for single crystal inelastic measurement and the real-time data processing. Utsusemi developments, however, started about ten years ago, and old and obsolete script language, python2, is used for its coding. Therefore, we attempt to refactor the old codes to be executed on latest environment, Python 3. In this presentation, we show the new topics about our recent works on Utsusemi software.

Utsusemi developments, however, started about ten years ago, and old and obsolete script language, python2, is used for its coding. Therefore, we attempt to refactor the old codes to be executed on latest environment, Python 3. In addition, we decided to separate some parts of visualization software from Utsusemi to append the other series of common visualization software, called uGao. As the result, the structure of Utsusemi becomes simple and easy to use for users and developers more. In this presentation, we show the new topics about our recent works on Utsusemi software.

One of the recent successful developments in the computing group in MLF at J-PARC is about the "quasi-real-time" data reduction and visualization method, named a live data reduction. From the beginning of MLF running, users have strongly required to see the current data during the measurement to decide next experimental conditions and schedules. To realize "real-time" in these years, we decided to adopt a Publisher-Subscriber model using this technology and developed new modules working on our data acquisition system, DAQ middleware, which sends event-recorded data to a message queue server as a data publisher. In addition, we have a plan to offer users the new methods to obtain speedily the result of the live data reduction for the current measuring data. We start to develop a new server cooperating with the DAQ middleware and the measurement control system with web user interface, called IROHA2, to execute the live data reduction code prepared by users and visualize the result which enables users to confirm them on web browser.
