The present study proposed a relative evaluation methodology for the demarcation of applicable laws and design standards for the nuclear hydrogen production system and applied it to the HTTR Heat Application Test Facility. The evaluation results showed that a candidate applying the High Pressure Gas Safety Act to the Heat Application Test Facility (hydrogen production plant) and design standards established under the High Pressure Gas Safety Act to the steam reformer did not show the lowest category in any of the metrics, and was proposed as the most superior demarcation option for the HTTR Heat Application Test Facility.

ion irradiation. Also the positron lifetimes for hydrogen deposited region in the alloy decreased by the irradiation. These results show that implanted H atoms were trapped by vacancy type defects.

Db reaction is investigated together with the homologues Nb and Ta, and the pseudo-homologue Pa in 13.9 M hydrofluoric acid (HF) solution. The distribution coefficient (K
) of Db on an anion-exchange resin is successfully determined by running cycles of the 1702 chromatographic column separations. The result clearly indicates that the adsorption of Db on the resin is significantly different from that of the homologues and that the adsorption of anionic fluoro complexes of these elements decreases in the sequence of Ta

GC/MS (Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometer) with the help of Chemical treatments has been applied to measure amount of helium (He) atoms in metals. Metal samples of cupper (Cu) contained He atoms were prepared using a 200kV ion implantation machine. The samples were solved in 0.5cc volume of 20% nitric acid in a H type reaction tube filled with nitrogen gases at 1 atmospheric pressure and He atoms in Cu metal were exhausted completely into the nitrogen gases. He analysis using GC/MS reveals that the metals contained 10
to 10
atoms of He. The He signal intensity and He ions implanted to the metals revealed good proportional relation.

High temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) can produce a large amount of hydrogen due to high temperature heat supply capability. JAEA has started an HTTR heat application test project, which aims world's first hydrogen production demonstration utilizing direct nuclear heat. A hydrogen production facility will be newly constructed and will be connected to the HTTR. The objective of the test is to establish a safety design for coupling HTGR and hydrogen production facility through the licensing by the Nuclear Regulation Authority in Japan and demonstrate performance of components required for coupling between HTGR and hydrogen production facility. JAEA is currently conducting hydrogen production facility design as well as safety design and analysis of the HTTR. This presentation will show the overview and current status of the HTTR heat application test.
