Cs chemisorption onto structure material

Nakajima, Kunihisa

no journal, ,

In this lecture, research on the chemisorption behavior of Cs onto steels, which could affect the Cs distribution within the nuclear reactors and the amount of Cs released into the environment, and research on the chemical interaction between Cs and a thermal insulation material used for piping in the primary containment vessel will be explained and future issues on these researches will be discussed.

Corrosion evaluation based on the radiolysis calculations

Sato, Tomonori

no journal, ,

Examples of evaluation of corrosion phenomena under irradiation condition based on radiolysis analysis is introduced. The contents of this presentation are an example of analysis of hydrogen peroxide concentration by radiolysis calculations, evaluation of corrosion of carbon steel in the presence of oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. And then, evaluations of corrosion tests under gamma irradiation conditions using radiolysis calculations are introduced. One is measurement of corrosion of carbon steel under gamma irradiation, and the other is measurement of corrosion potential of stainless steel under gamma irradiation.

Activities preparing for analysis of 1F fuel debris samples

Takano, Masahide

no journal, ,

This lecture introduces outline of research activities preparing for the analysis of fuel debris samples generated in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (1F). Within the framework of subsidized project, analyses on the same samples of simulated fuel debris were performed in hot cell facilities at four sites in Ibaraki area.
