A Si-Ge detector array was newly installed at the focal plane of the gas-filled recoil ion separator GARIS to perform -
(X-rays) spectroscopy for superheavy nuclei. The performance of the array was tested using the

Performance of the new gas-filled recoil ion separator GARIS-II was investigated using asymmetric Ne-induced fusion reactions. The use of He-H
mixture gas for the gas-filled magnet significantly reduced background scattered particles detected at the focal-plane Si detector, and increased a transmission of the asymmetric reaction products. A target-identification system was newly installed for efficient measurements of excitation functions without changing beam energy nor target.

Delayed neutron is one of factors for stable and safe operation of a nuclear reactor. Energy spectra of delayed neutron and neutrino emitted in beta-decay attract another interest in a connection with nuclear security, non-destructive analysis, and nuclear nonproliferation. Because of limitation of experiment of short-lived nuclei, a complementary work with theoretical approach is well-suited to complete a delayed neutron data. To this end, theoretical hybrid model using pnQRPA and Hauser-Feshbach statistical model is constructed. The present results of delayed neutron are compared with other theoretical models. It is found that the present model reproduces experimental data in a comparable level to the other models. The energy spectra of delayed neutron are also compared and discussed. We conclude that the present approach can be one of theoretical tools to provide a reliable beta-delayed neutron calculation of experimentally unmeasured neutron-rich nuclei.

JAEA is conducting research and development on an Accelerator Driven System (ADS), aiming at reduction of burden for high-level radioactive wastes. To tackle technical challenges on ADS, JAEA is planning to build the Transmutation Experimental Facility as the Phase-2 program of J-PARC. Moreover, JAEA is considering the collaboration with the MYRRHA project proposed by Belgian Nuclear Research Center.

The first ionization potential of the heaviest actinide elements have not been measured until today owing to short half-lives and low production rate of the isotopes. Based on the surface ionization technique, we performed a measurement of the ionization potential of the heaviest actinide element, lawrencium (Lr, ), by using a newly developed surface ion-source installed to the JAEA-ISOL (Isotope Separator On-Line) at the JAEA tandem accelerator facility. We report on an evaluation of the IP value of Lr based on comparison of ionization behavior of short-lived lanthanide isotopes and
Lr on Ta surface at several temperature in the ion-source.

Energies of the first excited 2 states have been precisely measured for the first time for nine even-even actinide nuclei by means of
-
coincidence measurement and high-resolution
fine-structure measurement. It was found that the first excited 2
state energies in even-even actinide nuclei take the local minimum at
Fm, which indicates the existence of the double deformed-shell closure at Z=100 and N=152.
