(
). Clear minimaum of
has been observed at
in addition to a minimun at
, indicating that second order phase transtion occures at both temperatures. Based on a comparison between
of
Ga and
Ga nucleai, the enhanced fluctuations at both temparature are magnetic. The origin of the transitions are discussed.

The magnetic susceptibility is found to be highly anisotropic, reflecting the quasi-two dimensional tetragonal crystal structure. The magnetic easy-axis is determined as the [001] direction, consistent with the result of the neutron scattering experiments.

, which exhibits a metal-insulator transition (MIT) as a function of temperature, has been studied by photoemission spectroscopy (PES). Below the transition temperature
, the valence-band PES spectra indicate a gap formation, while the overall valence-band structure is shifted to the higher binding-energy side. The line shape of the Ir 4
core-level PES spectra shows a dramatic change across
, which may be associated with the variation of the Ir 5
electron states.

Samples were prepared for both polycrystalline and single crystals, which were arc-melted and grown by the Czochralski-pulling method in a tetra-arc furnace, respectively. Annealing is an important process to enhance sample-quality, namely the residual resistivity ratio. We tried to anneal the samples under various temperatures, which were wrapped by the Ta-foil and vacuum-sealed in the quartz ample, together with the solid state electrotransport method in ultra-high vacuum. The highest residual resistivity ratio was 900 for UGe
and 41 for URhGe.

Pressure-induced weak ferromagnetism was found to appear at low pressure (about 0.2 GPa). Both the remanent magnetization and the coercive force increase as pressure increases. This weak ferromagnetism may come from spin canting or from uncompensated moments around grain boundaries.

The growth-orientation dependence of magnetism of Cr/Sn and Fe/Cr/Sn/Cr multilayers was studied. For Fe/Cr/Sn/Cr multilayers, reduction of Cr magnetic moments was found in both (011)- and (001)-orientated samples, and the effect is larger in the former than the latter. In Cr/Sn multilayers, the (011)-oriented sample with the Cr layer thickness () of 80
80AA have a spin-density-wave structure with the wave vector perpendicular to the film plane.
