The Maintenance management of thickness measurement on the water tube boiler

Nishino, Shohei; Motohashi, Masahiro; Nishida, Tetsuro; Kawasaki, Ichio

Nihon Hozen Gakkai Dai-19-Kai Gakujutsu Koenkai Yoshishu, p.73 - 79, 2023/08

There are 4-boiler in Nuclear fuel Cycle engineering Laboratories (NCL). These boilers have been operated in the long term over 29 years. There are many water tube as one of many identical components which together make up a boilers. The leakage from water tube have occurred four times in recently. It was presumed that sulfur acid corrosion had caused the leakage. Therefore, to reduce generation of sulfuric acid corrosion, the operation term was changed to long, and regular inspection (non-destructive testing) have been carried out.

Ishibashi, Atsushi; Masui, Kenji; Goto, Yuichi; Yamamoto, Masahiko; Taguchi, Shigeo; Ishikawa, Satoshi*; Ishikawa, Tomoya*

Nihon Hozen Gakkai Dai-19-Kai Gakujutsu Koenkai Yoshishu, p.18 - 21, 2023/08

An inner-box typed hot cell for analysis of highly radioactive samples has been operated for about 40 years in Tokai Reprocessing Plant since its installation in 1980. During the operation of analytical hot cell, improvement and upgrades including auxiliary equipment have been performed, in addition to keep the equipment in proper condition through periodic inspections and maintenance. This paper describes about these efforts for analytical hot cell and its results.

Umino, Yoshinori; Kato, Keisuke; Tanigawa, Masafumi; Kobayashi, Daisuke; Obu, Tomoyuki; Kimura, Yuichi*; Nemoto, Ryo*; Tajiri, Kazuma*

Nihon Hozen Gakkai Dai-19-Kai Gakujutsu Koenkai Yoshishu, p.33 - 36, 2023/08

In the basic laboratory of the Plutonium Conversion Development Facility in Tokai Reprocessing Plant, tests had been conducted to obtain effective data for manufacturing mixed plutonium and uranium oxide powder by irradiating a mixture of plutonium and uranium solution with microwaves. The test has already been completed, and we are currently dismantling and removing equipment. In this paper, techniques related to equipment renewal, dismantling and removal works inside the glove-box are discussed.
