It was found that the particle size of synthesized BaTiO depends on the particle size of the raw material of TiO. Succeeded in synthesizing 100 nm size BaTiO nanocrystals showing uniform particle size distribution using TiO nanoparticles with optimized particle size. The obtained BaTiO nanocrystal is a tetragonal system of ferroelectric phase. A three-dimensional structure of BaTiO nanoparticles could be obtained by the electron beam tomography.

We propose a new structural model for the 8-type oxide structure and also confirmed the previously proposed model for the [29] oxide structure on Cu(111), based on the O1s XPS spectra. The detection-angle dependence of the O 1s spectra supports that the nanopyramidal model is more preferable for the (X)R30 CuO(111). We also report the electronic excitations which O1s electrons suffer.

At three stepwise separations (SPE-DRC-Q mass filters), we showed that interference materials allowed the coexistence of abundance ratios of 1.510 for Tc/Mo. Using this optimized system, a detection limit of Tc was 9.3 pg/L (5.9 mBq/L) for a 50 mL injection and sequential measurements were undertaken at a cycle of 24 min/sample.

When the nanocubes were examined in detail using a scanning electron microscope, pulsed neutrons, and large synchrotron radiation, it was found that a reconstituted layer of titanium oxide was formed on the surface.

In this study, single crystals of Ba(FeSc)O of various Sc concentrations were successfully grown by the spontaneous crystallization method using NaO-FeO flux. X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis revealed that the obtained crystals were composed of single-phase Ba(FeSc)O of high crystalline quality. The temperature dependence of magnetization and the magnetization curves at 77 K of the = 0.128 crystal exhibited behavior characteristics of helimagnetism. Neutron diffraction measurements of the = 0.128 crystal exhibited magnetic satellite reflection peaks below 211K, proving evidence that Ba(FeSc)O behaves as a helimagnetic material.
