AIP Conference Proceedings 1090, p.386 - 390, 2009/01

Multi-step cascades from the $$^{62}$$Ni(n$$_{rm cold}, gamma)$$$$^{63}$$Ni reaction were studied via a $$gamma$$-ray spectroscopy method. A $$gamma$$-ray detector array comprising eight Eurisys clover detectors and BGO anti Compton shields has been constructed at the research reactor, JRR-3, in Japan Atomic Energy Agency, which is used to accumulate multiple $$gamma$$-ray coincident events. By selecting full cascade events from the capture state to the ground state, we have developed a new level construction method called Total Energy Leading nuclear Level Analysis in 1-dimensional spectrum (TELLA-1). Statistical pattern of multi-step cascades enables us to derive reliable decay scheme up to the capture state at 6,838 keV. In the presentation we will describe its principle and validity in the nuclear level assignment in $$^{63}$$Ni.
