This paper presents a method of designing a feedforward element of 2DOF controller based on the approximation in time domain. Since we deal with the discrete-time 2DOF controller parameterized with rational stable function, the relation of the controller parameter and output sequence is expressed in the form of simple linear equation, through which the feedforward element of 2DOF controller can be designed. In addition, we also propose a controller parameter tuning method to enhance the reference response characteristics of control system by applying the iterative solution commonly utilized in numerical calculation. The results of the numerical simulation show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

High Intensity Proton Accelerator Facility is under design. 3 GeV proton synchrotron is one of its facility. It has about ten families of magnets. Resonant type power supplies are adopted to excite their magnet families at 25 Hz. Magnetic field of each magnet family has to track each other at high precision of 1E-4. In this paper current control of power supply is studied. Phase angle of current is affected by variations of capacitance of resonant capacitors caused by temperature. A correction of current reference is necessary realize the performance.

A phosphor material such as SrBPO

has been investigated for two-dimensional imaging for pulsed-neutron source. The authors found this phosphor itself shows photostimulated luminescence (PSL) by illumination of 635 nm laser light after neutron irradiation without adding any neutron sensitive materials such as Gd. The PSL intensity per neutron flux was proportional to E
, where E is neutron energy. The neutron sensitivity was increased by using enriched boron instead of natural boron. The S
/S
ratio of this phosphor using enriched boron was better than that of a commercially available imaging plate, where S
and S
are gamma and neutron sensitivities, respectively.

Behavior of energetic particles in spherical torus (ST) is summarized in comparison with that in tokamaks. The issues treated in this article are neoclassical transport, ripple loss, Alfven eigenmodes and Magetohydrodynamic- instability-induced anomalous transport. ST is expected to be favorable in terms of neoclassical transport and ripple loss. On the other hand, Alfven eigenmodes and the resulting energetic particle loss can be serious concerns in a ST reactor because of a high volume-averaged beta and a super-Alfvenic speed of alpha particles.
